Wonderful Insight about the Gift of Reading Good Books
This book has great insight into the importance of reading good books and helping our kids venture into different genres of books. Long lists included of recommended books per age and per genre is included. I have the audio book and paperback. Both are great!

Read good books with your kids
We love to read. But there are SO MANY books. And you only have so much time with your kids. So how do we pick good books that will bring beauty, encouragement, help us grow, makes us laugh, fit our values, etc. This book will help you do that. She provides great lists but also talks about how to find good books when wandering the library. This and "The Read Aloud Revival" are the best books on books for kids. I treasure them both.

Love this revised version. Highly recommend!
Earlier version was a gift to me when my daughter was young. We read SO MANY of the suggested books. They are what my daughter, who is now a teacher, calls rich literature. Most Books now have fewer words. I bought this updated book for her when we found out she was expecting. I compared the versions and it had many old favorites with updated newer classics. When my daughter was young, I went through the book at night and put holds on books at the library, which was how we read so many without spending hours hunting for the books. To this day one of both of our favorite memories is snuggling up and reading the huge stack of library books over and over. Highly recommend! (But wordy at front of book. Skip to book lists)
