Unles you do some DIY work to your current lights it would not work.

12 easier to mount 18 is way too tall

Q: can I mount it on a rimmed tank?

I mounted a few of these on two low-boy frag tanks that where rimmed without issue.

Q: Will this work for a 55 gallon bowfront?

I don’t think it is enough for this size.
