I bought this so I wouldn't be chancing ruining the mouthpiece that came with my Cressi snorkel. I cut back the triangle pieces enough and now I can snorkel without worry of gag reflex acting up. I didn't completely remove them but there is just a millimeter or two left so you can still bite down with your teeth, although I think it would stay in the mouth just from the way the front is designed.For those who don't know....the back triangle area of mouthpieces aren't much but are just enough to push the tongue back ever so slightly into a position that someone with a bad gag reflex will act up. Having to gag underwater does not work out.

Anytime my mouthpiece got bitten thru, or got weird black mold growing on it, I had to buy a new snorkel...my bad! Here's the replacement mouthpiece I've always wanted. And Cressi always, ALWAYS!, makes the best stuff! *****

When my girl told me her snorkel mouthpiece worn out, I was wondering another new one is needed.However this mouthpiece works pretty well to restore the snorkel back to function.When ordering, we need to check the picture to make sure it would work for us.
