works great
I was really happy with how much easier this made it for me to install handles onto a cabinet. It lined them up perfectly and worked great!

Should Include Pliers ;-)
Overall this a decent tool for the price, but it's certainly not a professional grade tool. My first use was for a few drawer and door handles and while it did a great job of positioning the holes, the set-up revealed a problem. The main issue is that the longitudinal sliding ruler is made of plastic. Here is why that is an issue: The lateral coordinate ruler is stainless steel and the thumbscrews on the sliders create a firm grip when tightened by hand. However, the plastic longitudinal ruler is too smooth for the thumbscrew to hold tight with just hand tightening. When using a decent amount of pressure to hold the tool on the drawer/door while drilling, the longitudinal plate can slide out of position. In order to ensure a solid connection, I had to tighten the longitudinal thumbscrew with pliers. While that is a minor inconvenience, it does mar the side of the longitudinal ruler by leaving a small indentation. Since the longitudinal position for my drawer handles was different than the position of the door handles, I now have 2 small indentations on the side of the ruler. I can imagine that over time the side of the plastic ruler could become marred enough that getting an accurate set-up will become an issue. I would definitely recommend this tool for use on a couple of projects or even multiple projects if the location of the holes doesn't change very often. It is only the marring of the side of the longitudinal ruler possibly causing a misalignment that concerns me. I would gladly pay a few dollars more for a longitudinal ruler made of steel.

All this for $15???
Just completed my kitchen makeover - I needed to drill 42 doors and drawers for handles. I saw an add for a professional tool to ensure accuracy - but WOW it was $200. I got this item on Amazon for about $15. Is it perfect? Probably not. However - it is VERY good enough. I had to incorporate a clamp, but the finished product is fantastic. 2 thumbs up.
