Hello. Does this work on 220 Volt?

Amazon US sells 110v . Maybe try Amazon UK or other European outlet . You would have to contact seller if he sells 220 v option. Mine is 220 volt as I am in Egypt. I love the machine

Does anyone else have difficulty inserting and removing the milk container? Is there a trick to it?

I did, but I used Dow Corning food grade O-ring silicone lubricant/grease, and now it slides on/off more easily. And as others have said, be sure to keep clean after each use; I use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to clean the stem (the milk carafe inserts onto) after each use. A little care goes a long way. ;-)

I am looking for really good tasting coffee beans for this machine. Which can you recommend?

For a top of the line Espresso Maker like the Eletta I sourced a product from an importer called Caffe Vergnano 1882 blend it comes in a 2/3 lb. pack vacuum sealed containers It is the finest medium roast espresso beans I have ever had; it was expensive but puts all other espresso beans in another category. But at $.30 per espresso and a household that consumes a lot of espresso drinks; it is the best value available. Website is www.atalantacorp.com. I had to pick it up at local public warehouse. But after having 3 dinner parties my guests who love their espresso all have purchased the beans and love them. If you prefer dark roasted beans then Illy is very good as is Peet's.

Does this have an option for manual milk frothing?

Yes, mine came with spout that attaches where the milk frother usually does. Works well, but the automatic attachment is so easy to use.
