70 durometer provides excellent vibration isolation for heavy loads
Low frequency sound from our pipe organ was rattling the china and glassware on a large set of metal shelves in our kitchen. Based on my estimate that the shelves plus contents weigh at least 600 pounds but less than 1200 pounds, I chose these 70 durometer pads which are rated 150 to 333 pounds each (total 600 to 1332 pounds). Had the load been heavier, I would have needed larger diameter pads since 70 is the highest durometer (stiffness) available.I emptied the shelves, placed a fender washer on top of each pad to spread the load, and put one under each of the four supports. After re-loading the shelves, the vibration problem was gone.Initially I was concerned that these 6 foot tall shelves might sway too much in an earthquake or other accident, but after a few hours the pads compressed to about 2/3 their original thickness and became very stable. They have been in place about a week now and are still completely effective for isolating vibration; I will update if that changes.Because the manufacturer states that these contain a plasticizer which can stain surfaces, I placed aluminum foil under each pad. However, the plastic sheets on which these are shipped would probably do as well or better. The key to success with these is to choose the dimensions, durometer (stiffness), and load rating carefully to match the application. For light loads, choose more flexible (lower durometer) pads, and for heavy loads use larger and less flexible pads which can support the weight.

Much too large for a turntable -- get the smaller ones
Folks saying these don't work on turntables and other small electronics -- you're right, they don't. These large ones are rated for hundreds of pounds of weight on them and if you put something light on them, vibrations will just go through them like they aren't there. If you are stuck with these, cut them into smaller pieces and it may work better. Otherwise just buy the smaller thinner ones. These are great for heavy speakers, but are still way too thick for smaller nearfield monitors. Get the smaller washer style ones, or the half-spheres.Also, they dry out and lose effectiveness over time -- I swap mine out every couple of years. Still an incredibly effective solution, much better than every "iso pad" type solution I've ever encountered.

Solved my problem with extreme washing machine vibration!
Recently installed new Front Load washer in second floor laundry room. All install directions followed to a "T"! The extreme vibrations when, the machine went to spin cycle, were felt and heard throughout the house. Home service call by Factory repair person determined no machine malfunctions and proper install.I purchased these Sorbothane Vibration Isolation pads. The machine still vibrates however the "shake, rattle and roll" is not passed on to the floors and ceiling of my house. Pads have been in place for 4 wash cycles so far they continue to function with no sign of fatigue or loss of effectiveness!!!

Disintigrated inside a month.
Purchased the 70 duro pads to go under an industrial embroidery machine that shook the entire house when it ran. It cut down all of the high frequency vibrations, but the rhythmic rocking of the floor was only dampened by probably 65% (still a huge amount)These are certainly better for buzzing, rattling or other high frequency vibrations, but still work well for shaking. Would recommend for: Air Conditioners, Refrigerators, dishwashers or other heavy appliances where high frequency vibration is the chief concern.Washing machines, large reciprocating saws or anything that really rocks needs something like this to dampen high frequency vibrations and also to be properly leveled + added mass to distribute the low frequency shaking and movement. A few cement pavers on the frame of the embroidery machine as well as relocating it closer to a wall cut out most of the remaining shaking.Update: After only 1 month they have totally disintegrated! We used this machine sparingly, maybe 40-50 hours in one month, and 3 of the 4 pads have totally fallen apart and the fourth is on its way. Each pad was rated over the weight of the entire machine.

Works really well!
Overpriced, but really effective. I use it for hybrid water heater wall vibration absorbent.

Just what I needed!
Used to isolate my subwoofer from my hardwood floors. Fit is perfect and has the right amount of rigidity and absorbency. Both sides offer a good amount of tackiness to prevent my sub my sliding or moving yet peel off with no problems for re-positioning. Price point is excellent and a lot cheaper than floor spikes. I may build some speaker stands using these as a platform.

Does not isolate
Intended to use these to isolate my turntable from shelf. When I tap on the shelf it is heard through the cartridge. I added the isolation disk and the issue was not improve AT ALL. So for my application it does not isolate my turntable from vibrations. Very surprising since they are very spongy an soft and seem like they would make a big difference and would absorb most of the vibrations. But not so for my situation.

Doesn't work
I put these under a front load washer and releveled the washer. Unfortunately when the washer spins, this doesn't seem to effectively reduce the vibrations, which can be felt through the floor

Own a turntable? BUY THESE!
Seriously - buy these and put them under the feet of your turntable. I bought this set as a gift for a fellow vinyl lover, but they are big enough to be used under most of my power tools as well. They will eliminate floor noise, minimize motor noise, and minimize skipping.

It works for stopping bed shaking
No, not for the reason you think. I live in the upper floor of a duplex and have super inconsiderate downstairs neighbours who slam doors at all hours of the day and night, so hard it makes our floor and the bed shake. I bought these to try to stop the bed vibration, which they do. I can tell the difference when any of the bed feet slide off them, as the vibration returns. Unfortunately they can't stop the noise, which still wakes me up. Thank God I'm moving next month. As mentioned, one of the issues with these is that the bed feet easily slide off them. They would work better placed inside some kind of cup that would keep them and the feet together. Also, it would be nice if they came in a higher loadbearing capacity. I bought the strongest, 70 duro, and the first set I bought, the ones under the middle feet of the bed broke as those carry the most weight. This set, I put two each under the two middle bed feet and they seem to be holding up better, but I haven't been using them for very long.

I hear an improvement
After replacing my carpets (on concrete) with floating engineered hardwood, I didn't want to use spikes on my Martin-Logan SL3s. Tried various solutions, then ordered these. I put dense cork squares underneath the pads, to avoid discoloration of the wood. Although you should always take these subjective reactions with some skepticism, the bass really seems to have tightened up. Piano recordings especially are noticeably clearer in the upper bass/lower midrange. I've spent more on 'improvements' that do a lot less.

Perhaps I am using them incorrectly or have a poor setup to really hear the effect
Doesn't really help with vibrations for my record player. If I had the choice again and known the difference it wouldn't make, I would have not bought these. Perhaps I am using them incorrectly or have a poor setup to really hear the effect, but they did not in general help the problem I had with my record player.

significant reduction in vibration on 3D printer
I used these under by Creality Ender 3 printer and noticed a significant reduction in the transfer of vibrations from the printer to the table below. Less vibration means a quieter machine and more accurate prints. They are a bit pricey, though. I wonder of there might be other, less costly solutions to the vibration issue. Still, I'm happy with the result.
