Noodler's Ink Refills Bernanke Black Bottled Ink - ND-19066

Excellent ink. Very black. Doesn’t dry out in my fountain pen. It doesn’t bleed through the time or River paper in my planner. Saw this brand recommended on a subreddit and had to give it a try. I’m glad I did!

I was new to using fountain pens when I decided to try Noodler Bernanke Black - but I think it's a fantastic starter ink. Being new to using a fountain pen - I really did a ton of research into a good, black ink. I wanted something that wouldn't smudge or bleed, dried quickly and was very rich and dark. I think Bernanke Black is a great ink all-around for a daily writing ink. There are some things you should probably consider with this ink, though. PROS: Very dark ink that dries quickly. Does not bleed on quality paper Very wet ink (Could be a con if you don't like that) CONS: Feathers and bleeds a bit on cheap paper Opening the bottle for the first time can be a very messy experience I'm using this in an extra-fine nibbed demonstrator pen, and for daily journaling it does the job just fine. When I'm using it to write on forms for work, though - it can start to bleed a bit. This isn't an issue with the pen or ink, but with the quality of paper my company uses for almost everything. I still love this ink, but if I think it's necessary I'll update my review as I use different types of ink.

I bought some Waterman ink but that seemed to dry up quickly inside the pen if it hadn't been used for several days. After reading some other reviews I purchased this and have been very satisfied. The flow is good, the ink is nice and black, and it dries quickly on the page. As others have said, the bottle comes totally, totally full. Open it in the sink, otherwise you'll be hating life as you try and clean up spilt ink for the next hour.

I bought this on accident as I meant to buy bulletproof black, as that is one I've used for years for coloring in copic drawings. After trying this one, I don't think I'll go back! This one dries insanely fast and DOESN'T SMUDGE THE INK OR ERASE IT easily, at least as far as I've tried it on the papers I've tried it (deleter manga paper). As someone who does illustration for a living and draws comics, this is a huge deal. I'm not convinced it's the best ink that exists yet, as it is not as dark as other inks, but it responds well to light touches and dries fast, and is generally copic and watercolor proof as far as I've worked with it. I've not done extensive testing with all copics and papers and watercolors, but so far its held up enough that I like it.

The ink is great. The problem I had with this product was that it was entirely way too full and ink came pouring out of the bottle when I opened the lid, making a mess everywhere.

This is the darkest black ink you can find and it dries very fast. I love Noodler's ink and prefer it to other brands due to the high quality of the ink and the stability of the ink on multiple types of paper, and in all of my pens. Smudge proof, water resistant and smooth flowing, this ink is one of the best of the Noodler's inks.

Bottle was so filled right to the top that as I was opening the bottle ink started spilling everywhere. What a mess.

Great ink, does fast. Bottle was overfilled and leaked in transport. Diddnt lose a lot but the packaging was a mess.

I wish I would have read the 1 star reviews before I purchased this ink. Even though it states it is waterproof, it most certainly is not. Even after letting it dry over 24 hrs, it ran and smeared into my watercolours.

Those who buy Noodler’s inks buy in large part for their unusual labels. The package came with ink leaked all over the label and box. The label is not visible at all. I also lost some of the product.
