Very nicely made and very nice to use
Tansung chefs knifeBest knife I've owned!I'm so happy with this chefs knife. It came beautifully packaged in a nice presentation box which had a magnetic type of lid. It also had a plastic clip on the end for safety as this is a very sharp knife. This knife is very comfortable to hold and has a beautiful light Damascus type of pattern on the blade. The knife looks like it might be heavy but isn't.This knife is made from German High carbon stainless steel with rockwell hardness of 58. Its also shaped to ensure a proper balance between the handle and thin blade ensuring ease of movement. This knife is multifunctional it slices through vegetables like cutting through soft butter. I've been using it to cut through meat with ease and without any difficulty. Cutting meat is no longer a chore anymore.Overall excellent quality and beautiful design. Makes a nice gift for those who love cooking. There's also lifetime warranty in the description and 100% money back service.I am really happy with this extra addition to my kitchen. It is very sharp so please be careful when cutting or slicing. Prices at £25.99 at the time of this review it's well worth the price. 5 stars.

Sharp and Efficient!
What can I say? A really superb, well-crafted chef's knife of high quality. Comes packaged in a nice box that opens rather like a casket. The nice itself is cradled inside nicely, and has protective guards over the plastic corners so you can't accidentally hurt yourself before first use.The handle is very nice and ergonomic; a good size, too, and fits nicely in the hand. The knife is lightweight, but by no means feels cheap, and is indeed sharp enough for most slicing or dicing you need. Perfect for fruit and veg, as well as tougher things like meat. I use this fairly regularly, and it just really looks the part. The 'wavy' design across the blade is definitely not nearly as visible as it appears in the pictures, and doesn't really serve any purpose, than I suppose to *look* like it's Damascus Steel, or of a higher quality in general? Seems a weird decision to me. This item is more than reliable enough on its own merit, but there you are.Still definitely recommend.

The blade on mine is not ultra sharp
I did not like or see the purpose of the etched feather pattern on the blade of the Tansung 8” kitchen knife, but I was impressed with the balance of the knife and both the sturdiness and grip of the handle. However, my biggest disappointment was that the knife was described as ultra sharp and it did not perform as such. I have an old 8” Chef’s knife that I have resharpened many times and although it cuts well, the blade has many nicks in it and is approaching the end of its usefulness. I also have a newer 8” knife that has grooves cut into it to stop the cut food from sticking to the blade, but these are ineffective. Both of these knives perform better than the Tansung and this is particularly noticeable when slicing tomatoes. The Tansung does not cut the outer skin without pressure being applied and this tends to squash the tomato, whereas the other two cut through the skin like butter.Although I like the feel of the Tansung and can appreciate the design and quality of the handle, it does not do its job well and hence I do not consider it good value.

Sophisticated elegance
I was so excited to try this knife, I love making meals for my family but I hate a dull blade. This knife certainly is not that in all regardS, lit is also aesthetically pleasing to the eye.It arrives in a cardboard box with a magnetic closure, both ends of the blade have a plastic clip for safety. This knife is very beautiful to look at with an intricate Damascus pattern on blade. The handle is comfortable to hold, the knife feels well balanced and is quite lightweight. It is made with German Carbon Steel with a Rockwell hardness of 58. German stainless steel has a lower carbon content, they are softer making them more durable as well as allowing them to hold a sharp edge longer without sharpening. The blade on use was very sharp so do be careful, I used it to chop up my vegetables and it sliced cleanly and effectively through with one satisfying cutI would advise to hand wash only to maintain the brilliance of this elegant knife. Priced at £25.99 it’s not cheap but it is a worthy knife.

Razor sharp, comfortable in the hand.. Amazing knife for the price
I must say before this arrived I was quite sceptical of how good this knife would be. But after opening and trying it out I am really surprised. The knife its self seems very well made and what I like the most is how it feels in the hand. It has some weight to it but is well balanced, and there is a lip at the bottom to stop it from slipping out of your hand. The edge is razor sharp, it cuts through most things like butter. I have spent a lot of money on knife sets before but this is definitely up there with the sharpest I have used. Also another nice touch was the packaging. I know it's only for unboxing but the knife is displayed in a case with a magnetic folding front and these little touches give you that premium feel. The only thing I disliked was the fake damask look, when you feel it you can tell this was etched in just for visual effect. Personally I think it would of looked better without but none the less, an amazing knife all round for the price.

Very sharp
Only time will tell if it will hold a sharp edge and how easy it will be to sharpen but so far so good. The handle is nice to hold and the knife has plenty of weight behind it and cuts easily through joints of meat.It comes in a nice presentation box, cardboard but held shut by a magnetic catch which gives a quality feel to it.The pictures in the blurb are a bit misleading as they show a heavy Damascus type pattern, it does not claim to be and it is not Damascus, however in reality the pattern is much more discreet and again gives a quality look to the knife.Although I did not pay for it for the quality it seems good value, but as I said only time will tell.
