I love this devotional to start my quiet time. I use it constantly—it gives me food for thought to get into each daily devotion and provides scripture used. The author Paul Trip is great!

New Morning Mercies is just a really good devotional and has been a blessing to me this year. You won't regret making it part of your daily scripture time!As for the note-taking edition, I'm very happy with it. Soft faux-leather in a nice deep expresso color that looks pretty sitting out and doesn't call attention to itself. Pages are thick; while I am a bit shy about actual note-taking in a book, I would not expect bleed-through or other issues with doing so. Margins are wide but not super-big so you'll want to keep your notes brief or compact.The binding is what makes me the happiest. With sewn bindings on any book, you want to break them in-- open the book in the middle, gently flatten pages down at the crease, and then work through, a few pages toward the front, a few toward the back, flattening each page spread to relax the binding and allow the book to remain open. This book just behaves super-well, and feels super-nice in the hand.A great gift for anyone who loves the Lord and doesn't already have it.

This is hands-down the best daily devotional I’ve ever completed. It’s past surface level but it’s not too deep. You learn so much more about God’s grace than you think you will. Will never stop recommending this one.

I have bought two types of this book. I really like this journal idea. Paul Tripp brings hope and scripture to every day life. This is the best devotional I've read and continue to read.
