Q: how big is each piece?

I think about 2 1/2 inches square. The pieces are nice and thick - very good quality. And the graphics are really great. My grandson has enjoyed both the game and puzzle since he was 2! Again, I am very pleased with the quality and durability of these products.

Q: What age children like to play this awesome game?

This game is really fun for ages 5 and up. It is great with kids and adults playing together and the kids seem to have better memory! The illustrations on the game are really great, I highly recommend! Have a great day!

Q: Is there a distinguishable pattern on the back of the cards? My daughter has memorized the images on the back of her other game, so kind of cheats.

The cards are still in factory shrink wrap so I can not tell....there is a piece of cardboard behind it. If I remember correctly...there is the same pattern. I think your daughter would not be able to memorize them. thank you, Lisa
