Gorgeous hand-crafted stoneware sink, the photos can't capture how beautiful this glaze is. The Rim has white/black speckled effect, I call "Lizard Skin" The inside top of the sink is a rust glaze variegated into the beige, green and lavender hued "Moon" glaze. This sink is self rimming, drop down into vanity or counter. There is an overflow. This sink has a cosmetic flaw on the rim. A split in the clay in firing. See last photo. It is filled with glaze and the sink is sound. The price has been marked down for this, As with all handmade sinks the rim is not completely true, slight variation in roundness. 16" diameter. Drain opening is 1 1/2" Mayra hand throws each sink on a potter's wheel. Then waits for the clay to harden to what potters call "leather hard". She then trims the sink, finishing the form. The sink is then carefully dried over several days. After each sink is bisc fired, Mayra applies her specially formulated glazes. Then each sink is fired to 2400 degrees Fahrenheit, making these sink an extremely vitreous and durable finished sink, to last a lifetime and longer.
