The part of this which is meant to light up seemed to be quite well made from what I could tell, but the battery compartment seemed very cheap and of poor quality. Upon plugging the lamp into a USB outlet, the lights did not illuminate, and the resistor within the battery compartment became extremely hot, melting the plastic casing on both sides and making a very nasty burning smell. I have returned it for a refund.
