Great Blade - Performance to price is perfect !
Great balance of price to blade life. If you have not cut flooring before and are cutting engineered hardwood / pergo etc.... you will find out quickly that it is very tough stuff ! Blade performs very well on Pergo XP and bamboo. In fact, it appears to last about as long as $25.00 makita blade. I'd expect to cut at least 150-200 Square feet with numerous rips before having to change blades IF you are "gentle" with the saw. This of course will vary greatly with material. A few tips - Do yourself a favor and order a COUPLE OF BLADES if you are doing multiple rooms ! It will save a trip to the local hardware store where you will probably pay 2-4 x as much for comparable blades. Don't "push" the saw - this will cause the blade to get too hot and dull quickly. CUT SLOWLY and let the blade do it's job. How do I know the blade is shot ? - You will know. Higher resistance + you will likely be setting off smoke detectors and wondering what is on fire. It's the blade overheating and scorching the sides of the cut.

A surprisingly solid blade — quality you can feel
As someone with way too many tools and blades in the shop, I can tell pretty quickly when something is built right, and this SKIL 75540 flooring blade impressed me. The carbide teeth are sharp, consistent, and durable, and it cuts through flooring materials cleaner than I expected at this price point. No excessive vibration, no burning, and it holds its edge well even under steady use. For a 4‑3/8" 40T blade, it punches well above its weight. Definitely a quality piece to keep in the toolbox. Great value for the money. Easy to install. Replacing the blade with the SKIL 75540 flooring blade definitely reduced the noise level. Will buy again when needed.

A review of the blade and the Skil Flooring saw
The Skil Flooring saw does everything you need to do for flooring. The only quirk is when working with a wider board when you are doing a multiple rip cut you are limited in how much you can cut off - 4.25" or so - it's hard to explain but here goes: I had a few boards that needed to ripped down but at two different widths (doorways) so the first half was 3" and the second half was say 5". I would not be able to do the 3" cut because I can't have more then 4.25" on the other side of the blade with my 8" board - therefore I flip it over and risk fraying the edge. As a whole this was an awesome tool for me, a DIY, and my laminate flooring project. Some tips - get some scrap wood and check your 90 degree mitre with a square and make sure your fence is straight. I adjusted the 90 degree mitre right away and I checked my fence but I found that I had to adjust the fence a few times during the project as I never got it just right. Buy a blade per 150 sq ft of laminate. I probably could have gone through at least 3 for the 600 sq ft of laminate that I installed.

SKIL 75540 4-3/8-Inch by 40T Carbide Flooring Blade
I found nothing wrong with this blade. It is as advertised. .. Tyme, Me, will tell if it fails to stand up to careful use, but so far it is Ok. ...After cutting 50 - 60 feet of laminate flooring the blade began to burn both side of the work but still cut in a perfect straight line. On close examination of the blade I saw a buildup of what looked like varnish on one side of it. It looks like that buildup was causing the blade to rub instead of cut and therefor overheat. There is some dulling of the carbide tips but that could be partially caused by the heat. I already replaced that blade with a new one but will clean the old one and see what it can do after the new one dulls. I think the one sided buildup is caused by the fence being to open on the far end of the Skill Floor Saw. All in all the floor saw is a very handy, accurate, inexpensive tool.

Accuracy
Pros: Provides accurate and clean cuts, making it a good choice for cutting trim and laminate. Uses 4 3/8 blades, allowing for nice thin kerf cuts and reduced chips compared to a 10 miter saw. Cons: The blades did not last very long, despite performing well.

Fits great, works well!
This seems to be a manufacturers upgrade! Works a bit smother than the blade that originally came with the saw. I am betting it has to be the extra teeth.

The most economical savings was on Amazon the exact same item was selling at our local "Home"box store for $32 a piece. As much as we love to hate Amazon the savings is exceptional and by saying that please give your employees proper washroom breaks.
