This item was affordable and works great, I was quite upset the Maverick didn't have a tailgate assist from the factory and thankfully someone offers this strut on the aftermarket. Install was easy, however, one piece of hardware on the truck requires removal and reinstall of a knob shaped part that uses a star bit and this was difficult to remove with the tool provided as its really torqued in from the factory and the tool easily slips out of the knob causing you to smack your knuckles. I highly recommend having an impact driver or a socket tool to remove this. Beyond that I am happy with the price, quality and function of the strut. I would recommend it for all Maverick owners! Keep in mind, you have to remove the tie down loop from the left side of the tailgate to have clearance for this strut. However, if you look up the "Maverick Truck Club" a user that goes by the name "Lane" sells a custom replacement loop that clears this strut. I recommend searching him out and buying his custom replacement so you don't lose your tie down. My photo shows this replacement tie down loop.

Easy install and works exactly as advertised. This ARANA tailgate assist shock took only a few minutes to install with the included hardware and instructions. Once installed, the tailgate lowers smoothly and no longer slams down. The shock feels well-built and operates quietly without affecting normal tailgate use. Fitment was perfect for my Silverado, and it adds noticeable convenience and protection for everyday use. Great value for the price—highly recommended. I bought it for my 85 year old grandfather and it’s absolutely perfect for him!

Great product..Was easy to install with included tools and instructions..works great..only concern was had to remove the bottle opener/tie down with a different sized star wrench(not included),but replaced with a d hook tie down so it doesn't interfere with assist shock.time will tell.

Didn't want a slamming tailgate so I picked this up. Fit my brand new 2025 Ford Maverick Lariat Hybrid just fine, no modifications needed. Slows down the gate so it doesn't slam, comes down at a nice easy speed. Installation is pretty easy though the instructions are a little vague. Came with a flat head screwdriver I had no idea what to do with. You'll need a T20 to get the one bracket out. Be very careful fitting the flat nut through or it'll fall off inside like mine did and you'll have to remove the top plate on the tailgate to fish it out with something like I did, which added 30 minutes to what should have been 10 for installation. Overall happy with the kit, the inexpensive price and can recommend it to 2025 Maverick owners.

This tailgate shock fit my 2025 Maverick Lariat perfectly and was easy to install, although the directions were not all that clear. Better than that, it works well and so far (through maybe 50 to 100 cycles) has proven to be an excellent way to keep my tailgate from “slamming” down. I think it’s an excellent value and would highly recommend.

This tailgate lowering damper works just fine. It was quick (and easy) to install, taking only 15 minutes. The included torx tools needed for installation saved time (no need to hunt for or purchase). Good value for the money.

Working perfectly. Don't believe the bad reviews. Installing was intuitive for those with more than a basic understanding of removing something and re Installing. Kit came with a cheap slot head that wasn't needed. Wrench worked okay but wasn't able to remove the bottle opener. If you've got a basic socket kit you'll be fine. Took me about 10 minutes to install. What an improvement to the stock tailgate. Fits perfectly and works better than i thought it would. Highly recommended.

Lo utilicé en un 2024 Ford Maverick, la puerta trasera o puerta de la caja de batea ahora baja suave. Viene con todo lo necesario para instalar, incluye la herramienta simple.
