Satisfied
I bought this to go from my car's built-in 3.5mm aux port to my iPhone 4's earphone jack. I have one of the Apple iPhone 4 cases that has a skinny hole that the cord has to fit through. This cable fits perfectly. The sound quality is flawless and the connection is solid. Note: To give you some idea of scale, because it's difficult to see in the picture, it's that little gold lip before the black end that fits in the case hole. The entirety of the black metal end will stay outside the case hole. Before I bought it I thought the black part would be really skinny but it's actually that gold lip that is skinny enough. As I said, the end connectors are very nice and made of metal. I like the thickness and weight of the cable too: it's not flimsy or weak and there are no corners for the cable to get caught on so this cable tends to be easy to retrieve and doesn't get caught on things and it tends to stay put rather than flop around. That's my experience, anyway. The only thing I can't be sure of is whether I might prefer a shorter cable. A shorter cable might look more organized and I love things to look super clean, but then I might not be able to maneuver the phone around and place it wherever I wanted and/or hold it up to my face while keeping it connected. I'd probably keep this length if I had to buy again. Bottom line: I would buy this cable again. This is a solid performer and worth the money for any application that needs a 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo audio cable of this length.

Looked great but....
I actually ordered this cable twice. The first time, the post office had some difficulty getting it to my door it seems. Two weeks after it was shipped, the tracking data showed that the package was being returned to sender as it could not be delivered. Not the sellers fault, but annoying nonetheless. I put in a second order. This time, the package arrived in 2 days (I have prime membership). Great! On first look, the cable looked very high quality. Thick, very thick... it's about the thickness of a typical mouse cable (roughly 3 times thicker than your typical headphone cable). The end fittings looked clean, sharp. I was happy up until I actually used it. The right channel kept cutting out until I bent the cable near the head and held it in a very specific orientation. I tried it in my netbook first, then my ipod, then desktop, all with the same results. So I'm fairly certain it isn't the head design. Which leads me to believe it's the connection between the internal copper wire and the head that's messed up. To be honest, I'm very surprised a cable that from outward appearance is so robustly built to exhibit defects that you'd only expect to see in a cable bought from the $0.99 store. I returned the faulty cable for a refund. I'm considering making a 3rd order and just chalking up the last defective cable to bad luck but I'm hesitant... *************************************************************************************************************************** Update - Sept 16, 2011 I initially rated this product 1 star, primarily because the one I received was not fully functional. I have to say, I've since completely reversed my rating. A few days after I posted my review, a service agent from Mediabridge contacted me via email. This is the first time a company has ever contacted me on a product issue first and not the other way around. Wow! Jarrod was very courteous, responded promptly to my return emails, and took the initiative to resolve my problem without me ever having to ask. Simply outstanding service. You just don't see that level of service these days. So the replacement cable arrived yesterday and I've been putting it through some rigorous testing. Sound quality is top shelf, noticeably better than my old ones from BestBuy. I'm very happy with the performance of this cable and more so, tremendously happy with quality of service I received. I would not hesitant for a second to purchase another Mediabridge product. Quality equipment, affordably priced, and the best service I've ever experienced. Can't say enough about that last point!

Quality construction but does not fit my iphone 3G - Updated
I bought this product after I lost my cable (different brand that served me well). I should have stuck to what I previously purchased but decided to try this one out based on the reviews. The cable is very well build and looks solid. I hooked up my iphone 3G and put the other end to my car jack and the audio was horrible! I had to twist the cable a few times and at one particular position the audio problem went away. It would stay that way as long as the cable or phone does not move. It seems the connector on the cable does not make good connection with iphone audio jack. (I have tried both ends of the cable). I am inclined to return it but too lazy to go through the hassle for what I paid. I guess I am one of those lucky ones who got worst of the lot. BTW, after few twisting and turning of the cable, when audio get clear, the audio quality is excellent. Really disappointed to have paid a premium to get a good cable only to get a piece of junk. I won't buy it again! 7/8/11 - Here is an update. I chose not to contact the seller (I did not want the hassle for such a small amount) but I did leave a review here. Customer service from Mediabridge responded to my comments online and asked me to contact them so they could make it right. I called them up to see if they mean it. The rep was very helpful and immediately offered to send me a replacement cable. It arrived in email a few days later and it worked like a charm! I am very pleased by their customer service and proactive approach to make sure they have happy satisfied customer. As far as cable is concerned, it works great. It's very sturdy and the sound quality is awesome! Very pleased with the vendor and the product. Definitely recommend both.

Good cable despite an initial QC issue
Item: Mediabridge 3.5mm (1/8") Male to 3.5mm (1/8") Male Stereo Audio (Auxiliary) Cable. 8 feet. "Step down" jack design to accommodate handheld device cases. Purchase date: July 25, 2012 Review date: January 21, 2013 Six months from the date of purchase seems like a long enough period to provide adequate information about how this auxiliary cable has fared. I bought it with a set of Altec Lansing VS2621 computer speakers so I could connect my laptop or iPhone to play music in my apartment. It looks nice, but the gold plating is poor quality and starts to wear away after a few months of use. The construction of the cable seems stiff enough throughout the body, and I use the standard method of rolling speaker cables to extend its life, but the jacks on either end were not engineered for long term use. After four months of careful use, I experienced the problem of audio only coming through one side of the stereo signal. Moving the cable strategically allowed the other channel to come through again, but this is a sign that the cable has degraded near the jack, where the cable bends as gravity pulls it down. Perhaps L-shaped jacks would have fared better, but I did not expect to see this level of deterioration already beginning in the 4-6 month window. Every audio jack has plastic spacers that separate each contact (L/R/g) from the other. The spacers used on this particular unit have begun to burn (not sure how else to describe it) from the electric current, leaving black residue on the jacks, and wearing away. This is so advanced on one end of the cable that today a small piece of the spacer ring fell off. I fear it will not last much longer and I am wary of possible damage to my speakers and audio devices because of this defect. I do not recommend this brand. There are better brands of audio cables available and I am now going to order one of those because I am deeply dissatisfied with my Mediabridge cable. See photos for detail. flickr.com/photos/tomgartin/8401940597/in/set-72157632579769964 ********************************************* Update: January 26, 2013 Mediabridge sent a replacement that I received this morning (very quick shipping). I have amended my rating to account for their customer service, adding two stars to the original one star. It would be better if the first cable had not failed at all, but good service brings up my rating to three stars. I intend to update this review in six months (the lifespan of the original defectivce cable) as a way of reporting on the condition of the replacement. ********************************************* Update: November 29, 2013 The replacement cable has served well over the past several months and does not exhibit the problems I experienced in the first one. I am adding a star for the reliability of the replacement. I am also amending the title of my review. Thank you.

I really love that because my Asus Xonar DG PCI dedicated audio ...
I noticed a huge difference between the Mediabridge 3.5 audio cable compared to the audio cable that came with my speakers (nickel-plated). While there should not have been a difference in sound quality between gold vs nickel plated audio cables, I noticed that with the Mediabridge audio cable, the volume was higher, less crackling, no static sound, and easier to insert into aux input. One of things I noticed right away when inserting the cable was that it didn't require an excessive amount of force to insert it into the audio jack. I really love that because my Asus Xonar DG PCI dedicated audio card is highly sensitive to any movement. For instance, if I remove the audio cable and it moves the card a bit, it disconnects the audio card and Windows no longer detects it. Then I'd have to remove and install the audio card which is in a pain in the butt. Now, this is soley a problem with the Asus Xonar DG audio card, but it takes care of my issues with it. Build Quality: Excellent build quality. Comes neatly packaged with covers for the tips of the audio cable and in a nice sleeve bag. Cables do not tangle which is a huge plus for me and a good sign that this was made with high quality parts. The cable feels just right. No tension. Contrary to belief that wires are alive and have a mind of their own. Which I sometimes believe when I justify why cable wires get tangled. Yes, I'm looking at you Audio Technica headphones. Makes me want to go wireless. But I can't have that! Gotta go hard cable or go home. For only $5.29, it's a steal. I'll always buy Mediabridge from now on. I've tried many other brands and they don't quite hit the quality of Mediabridge. I've tried everything from cheap RadioShack cables, Anker, and so forth. As of writing, I already plan on purchasing a few more.

Sturdy cable, very pleased
No complaints here. Used to run a DVD player to a ground loop isolater in the car, and sound was crystal clear. Sheath is sturdy, and stood up well to a 4,000 mile road trip. This is a great cable, specially for the price. The materials and build how things stack up are excellent. Some consumers visualize that thicker cables are has a jump on, so manufacturers constantly encase their cables in a familiar coating of modest plastic insulation designed to figure them look love they are higher quality. This constantly only makes them heavier and slight flexible. Not so by all of the Mediabridge; this cable is attenuate and mean. Even yet the cable is double-shielded, the insulation isn't overly related, so it remains attenuate and pliable. The terminations are also as a matter of fact compact. I'm per it to relate an AirPort Express to a headphone amplifier. Listening at the hand of $190 Ultrasone cans (while walking on a treadmill), I can look no problems by the whole of show quality. I haven't done entire elaborate allegory testing, nonetheless I can't share that there is a cable that would sound significantly transcend at this rate range. A few at variance points to consider: I appreciate the charcoal gray color; it won't fly to look all the worse for wear like those slow on the uptake white cables from distinct manufacturers. Also, the 8' term is unusual. Most manufacturers bound from 6' to 12', nonetheless this term is barely right for my application. Perhaps the best highlight is the stepped-down smaller diameter headquarters of the connectors, which allows it to right insert directed toward the headphone able bodied sailor of portable stylistic allegory without removing its case. This makes it realized for connecting an iPod or smartphone to the active input of a crate stereo.

Great 3.5mm Audio Cable. Outstanding Construction! Almost Fits my Sony MDR-NC200D perfectly.
I purchased this item because the 3.5mm audio cable supplied with my Sony MDR-NC200D noise canceling headphones got damaged. Sony provided a replacement, but I had to wait almost 3 weeks and so I purchased this cable from Amazon. Upon receiving it, the quality of the construction is amazing. The cable is well built and it has dual gold plated connectors, which many higher end headphones feature. Although the ends (part where you grab the cable end) are too fat to fit flush in to the headphone port, it still works without any flaws and the sound quality is great. When I am not using my headphones, I use the cable to listen to my iPhone through my Logitech S715i Portable 30-Pin iPod/iPhone Speaker Dock. Sound works on both channels without issues. I do this so that I don't have to keep having my phone charged when I want to listen to music. So far so good and hopefully unlike the other reviews, let's see if it holds up. PROS: + Amazing high quality construction + Great sound + Gold Plated Tips + Not expensive + Thick cord, not fragile NITPICKS: +/- Doesn't fit my MDR-NC200D flush to act as a true replacement for the original headphone cable, but it works. +/- Nothing else to report.

Best audio cable I have ever bought
This cable is a premium cable at a bargain price. I have about 6 3.5 mm audio cables and they are all junk compared to this cord. Either the ends are big and bulky and don't work with a case on the phone or don't fully plug in to the aux port or they are made with cheap material, sometimes both. I had to cut down the end of one of my cables to get it to work with my big bulky otterbox case. Then I stumbled across this product. The ends of this cord are just big enough to make a secure connection from plug to cable, there is no wasted space. In fact the brass plug is made so that it can fit in tight places and give a little space before the plastic connector piece even comes into play. The actual cable has the feel of a "monster cable." It just sags and conforms to how you want it to bend even though it is thicker than most audio cables. I was really amazed at the feel of it when I unrolled it, as it has a good quality soft feel to it, not like the plastic feel of cheap cable. I have experienced absolutely no degredation of sound using this cable. I have not tested it with anything high-end, but let's face it, this cable is for connecting a phone or ipod which I do not regard as devices that should be producing high-end sound. I use mine for pandora and mp3s and it works awesome. I bought the 8-foot cable and I love the length. It is not too long, and I HATE short cords. I know too long of a cord creates clutter and degrades signal, but I like freedom to move things around without restringing the cord. There are a variety of lengths offered too. Bottom line: this is a great cord at a great price and it is made like all 3.5 mm audio cords should be made. I will be replacing all my 3.5 mm cords with mediabridge cords.
