Susanna's Surprise: A Day at the Hans Herr House

I got this book for my granddaughter who is about the same age as the girl in the book. The photos really show what life was like in a Mennonite community 300 years ago. There was also a wonderful surprise at the end. This was especially nice for us, because the story was written about a real girl who lived in this house so long ago. That girl, and the girls who were the models for the photos, were all descended from the people who actually lived in the house. So am I and my granddaughter, so I can tell her that these people are her actual distant cousins. So very special. I bought the first book while visiting the actual house, and ordered another for my niece who is also descended from the Herr family. Thank you to the author for writing the book.
