Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion, which means that it bonds to the outer-most layer of skin cells and becomes part of the skin itself. It does not wash off any more than the outer layer of skin washes off. The skin still breathes and perspires naturally as shielding lotions comes off naturally, as the outermost layer of skin cells are sloughed off or exfoliated, well within 24 hours. In order for shielding lotions to work, as described above, they must be applied to clean, dry skin. Their effect may be limited or may not work as described if applied over the top of some other substance or onto skin that is not clean and dry. Gloves In A Bottle is absolutely 100% free from all parabens, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) / sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), formaldehyde, toluene, propylene glycol, salicylates, gluten, latex, dairy, wheat, soy, peas, corn, animal products, added fragrance, colorant, peanuts, and all other nuts. It is vegan, dermatology tested and prescribed, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic (will not clog pores), cruelty free, and every ingredient is on the FDA’s most safe list. It is so safe that is has been approved for hospital use in operating rooms through a series of clinical studies conducted by independent laboratories and hospitals.

Q: What is the dimethicone percentage?

Less than 1%. It is one of the most widely used ingredients in cosmetics. Dimethicone works, most generally, as a skin protectant - it prevents water loss by forming a hydrating barrier on the skin. Dimethicome has a unique fluidity that makes it easily spreadable. When applied to the skin, its known for creating a subtle gloss that feels smooth and silky to touch. Furthermore, the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel reviewed the data surrounding dimethicone, and assessed it as safe to use in personal care products.
