I tried using cyran wrap/wax paper to close the can but the lid keeps poping open. How did you reclose the can in a way that you can open it again?

I put both layers of a plastic sandwich bag over the can and then tap the lid shut. Use a hammer if you have to. That will keep it fresh for a week or 2.

Can this be applied in 40 degree temperature?

No, POR-15 is best applied at temperatures between 50 and 85F.

Can this be used to repair body car rust? My car is silver- will it be difficult to paint over the black?

I sanded down a small rust hole on my truck fender. I then took a small wad of steel wool in the hole then covered it and about 2” surrounding it with two coats of Por-15. Then sanded, primed and painted the black Por-15 with Sunburst Orange pearl coat. It looks great and that was a year ago!
