Wow! What a great game!
I am running 64-bit Windows 7 SP1 with all the latest updates and had no problem installing and running the game. I have a 20-inch monitor and the game looks great on that. For $6, this game is fantastic. Especially if you want to improve your game. The Best Play advice allows you to review all the words you could play with your tiles. The Merriam-Webster dictionary is built into game play, very handy to use, and helps you remember the new words you learn by introducing you to their selected meanings. You can leave off and resume a game at any time, review the game play, and the meaning of all the words used at any time. It's easy to look up all word combinations generated by a particular play. You can automatically shuffle your tiles or rearrange them one-by-one any way you like with your mouse. Start to play a word, take it back, rearrange the letters on the board, just like in the real board game.Since the game is based on the Official Scrabble Dictionary, all sorts of words you've never heard in your life are legit. In the reviews for the paperback The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary , there is a rant by Daniel Pratt (see 1-star reviews on book) on how far official Scrabble is from everyday word use, all sorts of Scottish words, South Sea fish, slang, etc., that you might not even find in a regular collegiate dictionary. Still, as a critic of the reviewer pointed out, if you want to play tournament Scrabble, your opponents will be allowed to use these words and thus, you'd better learn them, too.So, the game mimics real life Scrabble incredibly, provides an excellent word learning resource. The computer plays Scrabble like a champ-450 or more points in a 2-hand game if you follow it's Best Play advice. I'm about to read Everything Scrabble: Third Edition and How to Play SCRABBLE Like a Champion When I'm done that, I'll update my review as to how using the electronic game goes with the strategy books. And how the whole experience translates to the real Scrabble board.

Works on Windows 7
Like a few other reviewers, I had my doubts about this CD but bought it anyway and am so glad I did. The JV edition does state that is is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, and ME. It was delivered on time, packaged well, and came in a simple plastic case much like a DVD. It installed without a problem and in a matter of minutes, we were playing Scrabble. Unlike some other reviewers, I had no problems with the game during play. Good news...once you install it, put the CD-ROM away in a safe place because it will download in your programs and provide an icon on your desktop to click on when you want to play. It is much like other versions of Scrabble we had but updated and without Maven and includes many levels of competition. It is great to play Scrabble on our PC again!Update: If you are having a problem with the game stopping and then resuming, disable your screensaver and make sure other applications are not running such as anti-virus scan, pc tune-up scans, etc. We still have had no problems with this Scrabble version running with Windows 7 Home Premium.

A Pleasant Surprise
Since upgrading to Windows 11 I had not been able to run a legacy version of Scrabble that I had for several years on older computers. I took a chance on this and have been very happy. It installed easily and I have it running in XP compatibility mode. The only drawback is that it seems to take a long time to open. My solution is to start it when I first turn the computer on and just keep it minimized to the task bar when I'm not playing it during the day. The dictionary is not up to date, but it still is an enjoyable and challenging game.

I want to say this is a great piece of software! I had the older version of Scrabble and it was so "not user friendly".This game has many pluses.#1 Installs totally on Hard Drive. No more using the Disk to play.#2 If you don't like the full screen...just hit the "Escape" key, and it will minimize somewhat so you can still use it and access other things on your screen.#3 If you have to stop, you can just hit the "red x" at the top right, and then if you want to start up again, it will prompt you to either, "continue your previous game", or, "start a new game".#4 The Dictionary is right there and very easy to access.#5 You can play the computer at several different skill levels.I have only used this one day so far, and I am sure I will discover other good things. :)Last but not least, the price is spectacular. Years ago you had to pay 6 times this price for software that was not nearly as good as this.If you like to play Scrabble, you will love this edition! It installed very nicely on Windows 7.

Scrabble Champion Edition
I had this CD Scrabble game on Windows XP, and it played perfectly. The reviews and information said it would be compatible on Vista and Windows 7. I took a chance, hoping it would work. When I tried to install it, it was not a simple put the disk in and play. I had to go to Control Panel and do a few things. It works perfectly, though on Windows 7. One reviewer complained that their copy would not minimize or play on less than a full screen. Mine will go either way. It opens to a smaller layout and can be maximized. I love the technology of this game. I have it on my laptop and desk top. I bought four copies today, for my wife, a daughter, a friend, and one copy as a spare. My only wish is that you could play it without having to use the CD. I know that would require quite a bit more disk space for an installation that large. Otherwise, I love everything about it...

Scrabble
I find the dictionary handy, even if I'm not playing Scrabble. My only problem, until I got used to the 'choose new letters' spot, was that I noticed that I was getting the same letters back, although they were scrambled. Finally it dawned me that I was pressing 'cancel' instead of the button on the right.I'm addicted to the game and hope to have many hours of playing it.

Great Scrabble CD to load onto your laptop/computer. And then play against the different degrees of Scrabble to improve your skills in Scrabble. Recommend buying it.

Best Scrabble Game Ever.
Love this game but I suck at spelling and at a lost for placing words but I'm getting better; don't cheat as much now.

Works fine - just like the one I owned previously. Good exercise for my old brain!
I would recommend to any senior who wantst to keep their mind sharp. Some words in there never heard in every day conversation - an opportunity to memorize for future use.
