Mine were ancient, had been used & washed & used & washed 100s - 1,000s? - of times. Some had cracked cracked (one along an edge & the edge piece had broken off), some stained by foods with any red coloring in them. The worst were the ones that had been left in water too long & were blackened under the surface. Whatever the black substance was, it had penetrated far enough into the wood that even sandpaper didn't remove enough to get down to "clean" wood. So I had to have these, even if for nothing more than their appearance (the old ones are now used for various things in the yard). They're as sturdy as you'd want - not flimsy at all - the length is fine for all but my very deep soup pot, & they don't scratch non-stick cookware. They're fine in the dishwasher, although now, whether washed by hand or in the dishwasher, they're dried right away & hope that prevents the "black stuff." And, once again, Amazon's price beat Walmart's.

How many of us have wooden spoons that were passed on from older family member’s kitchens? We did! So when one of our 60ish year old wood spoon finally stirred its last batter before cracking and breaking, we were left Wooden Spoon-less and unable to cook as our elders had taught us. Needing a new wooden spoon in a hurry, I jumped on Amazon and ordered what appeared to be a set of three brand new Wooden Spoons. While they lack the feel of years and years of lovingly stirring cookie dough, preparing pancake batter, browning ground beef, or spanking naughty children, these brand new wooden spoons appear to be of good quality. They have survived a couple months of use as well as the dishonor of being placed in the dishwasher. While we never have and never will punish ill tempered children using a wooden spoon, these new Amazon purchased wooden spoons appear to be sturdy enough to be used in the kitchen for stirring, browning, or for any other use you might consider to be in compliance with your own state’s child endangerment laws.

These spoons are perfect for my kitchen. Perfect length for any stirring need. Smooth and crafted well.

I love using wooden spoons and these seem like nice ones. The wood looks and feels nice and solid and sturdy, and they arrived feeling pretty smooth. For the cost, I think they’re pretty good! They were maybe slightly rough in a few places but nothing that especially bothered me, and I have not seen any slivers of wood come off of them. I’ve used them in a variety of foods and they haven’t regained color or odor or residue from any of them. They have been washed in my dishwasher at least a dozen times and they are coming out clean and holding up nicely. The only drawback is that they’re all the same size, 12” long. Obviously they’re listed that way so I knew what I was buying...but I didn’t realize that I would really miss having shorter handled spoons for use in small bowls or saucepans, etc. But they could be shortened if needed!

I know, they're just spoons. The point is they're quality spoons. These spoons are longer and thicker than the old spoons they're replacing. The handles broke on the old spoons. The new spoons are stronger and the wood is of a higher quality with a fairly good finish on them. I didn't think there would be much difference in wooden spoons but these spoons have proven me wrong. If you need a good quality wooden spoon, at a good price, you won't be disappointed with these.

I expected a little thicker but for the price point I guess they are fine. Really just needed a wooden spoon with no hold in the end to make my artisan bread with .

These spoons are very nice. I love them for mixing cookie doughs or stirring sauces. They won't scratch my nonstick pans. The handles are thick and very sturdy. Excellent spoons. To the critics, what do you expect for around £2.00 per spoon? You could buy a nice smooth polished one for five times the price on OXO. These are a little rough around the edges to start with and perhaps some of the measurements aren’t quite exact to the millimetre, but they are really fine for every day cooking. You can’t get wood splinters out of these, they are beech wood. I’d buy them again.

Just what I wanted , will do the job well …

They're decent enough quality although not the best type of wood you used to get with wooden spoons back in the day. Also it would be better if they were mixed sizes rather than all exactly the same. They're not bad, they do the job.

These are really nice wooden spoons - good quality.

Good for the price, nice long handles to prevent getting my hands burnt. The spoon end is small but to be honest for mixing and stirring it’s all I need.
