My Big Book of 5-Minute Devotions

This is a great devotional for kids! I love how they have a page of reading for the parent to read to the kid and then questions for the kid to answer. The only hesitation I have is that some of the questions ask things (related to the reading) like “what makes you scared” which is not a good bedtime thing to ask. So read during the day or just skip those sorts of questions.

I would have given this 5 stars except for one thing... I have the "5 Minute Devotionals" and thought I would be getting all new ones in this book. Instead I got the ones I already have plus some new ones. However, this is a great book and my boys love it. (Ages 4 and 5) We ususally read a few at a time because I'm always begged for "just one more!" :) This is very well written and not only teaches your youngsters about God's love for them and how to behave like child of God, but great lessons on the animals of God's creation! Each lesson is based on a different animal and usually a behavior of that animal is focused on. Such as, a horse needs to be trained and so do we need to be trained by our parents, teachers, etc. There are about 5 questions after each story that really get the kids to listen and participate. It also lets the parent know if the child really understood or not. There is also a verse of scripture to go along with each lesson as well. We love this book and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants their little ones to grow closer to God.

This is different from the normal devotion books that I have done with my children but we have all enjoyed these devotions. We learn about God, and animals at the same time. It keeps the children engaged with the questions at the end and makes them think about different things. Definitely would recommend to friends. My kids are 5 and 7. I would think this would be good for 3 or 4 year olds (at youngest) and maybe up through about 9-10. Interesting animal facts but it is all tied back to a character trait that God wants to instill in all of us. I have enjoyed learning with my kids. it is a short devotion so it is not super involved but perfect for a short devotion.

I have four children and this book stands the test of time. I have been using it since my first child was 5...and now my last child is 4. All children love animals. The blending of teaching morals with God's word and the use of animal traits to convey the message make this book a WINNER!I will put it away for months at a time and then it reappears in a child's hand and each child gets to "pick" the "animal devotion" of their choice..we will do this for a few weeks and then it will go away again...only to resurface in a few months.

We love these books!!! We love the stories, how they have Bible verses and ask questions after each one. The brightly colored pictures keep my youngest entertained enough to sit still and listen

Well thought out devos---short and fun for kids!!

Beautifully written for children to understand.It came in very good packaging.

We ordered this to be part of our circle time in our homeschool. We love it! It has beautiful and fun illustrations, as well as simple questions to check for comprehension and encourage children to think about what God asks of them in their lives. It focuses on a different animal or insect each day and draws out a trait of that creature and shows how we should emulate that trait. There is also a verse for each one that ties in.It's a wonderful book to have for the children in your life!
