It has fewer activity ideas than some of the other books I ordered, but they are the BEST ideas and worth doing again and again. Very specific, wide age range, and with various categories such as arts, games, etc. My favorite was the journey stick, which wasn't what I expected--not a walking stick at all. Fun stuff I can't want to try with my K-2 classroom! Review: Lovely book - This is an absolutely beautiful book. Not only the content, but the book itself! It has wonderful little sketchings throughout that are just delightful. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has children or works with them. It has so many fun ideas on how to encourage kids to engage with nature and their outdoor environments. The activities are also written in a lesson plan format, so very helpful for teachers. Most of the activities could be modified for yards, parks, or schoolyards.

Have not used yet but reading through it. Will have fun things for us to explore once the weather turns nice! Great for nature learning from what read.

Great book for homeschooling!
This is a great book for anyone looking to mix things up with their children outside while still learning important life skills, getting excercise, and having fun together. I love that it has activities for both large groups of children as well as just one, it is also accommodates most ages (2-13 in my opinion). I look forward to using it with my three children 3, 5, and 7 in this upcoming homeschool year, but the best part is that my kids can't wait to get out there and learn all about the great outdoors!

Nature learning and fun
I bought this when my oldest was in kindergarten. We used it heavily then for adventuring around outside, making walking sticks, magic wands from nature items and collecting narrow TREASURES. I still love having this book sitting out on my coffee table for my kids to page through. We homeschool too, so it's been through it all.

Great book for specific forest activities/games
I love that this book has SPECIFIC activities listed, as opposed to just writing about the importance of playing in the forest as most other books do. Many of the activities are for older kids as opposed to toddlers but it's really easy to simplify these activities for toddlers.

Wonderful practical ideas for exploring the forest with children of all ages
This is a wonderful book full of practical ideas for exploring the forest with children of all ages. My 4 year old loves it and so do we as parents. I have used some of the ideas with older children 7-9 and they loved them as well.

This is an excellent book! Written very nicely with detailed but brief explanations and little graphs that allow you to quickly read the age, location , items needed, etc. for the activity. The pages are lovely and have drawings on them. Would be a great book for older children who can read or for adults. There are different themes and activities associated with those themes. Hundreds of ideas to choose from. You could alter the activity to suit different ages as well. This book is perfect for parents, children, teachers, etc. Everyone who works with children should have this book. It will inspire you to get outside and bring out your own inner child.
