Well executed! Great use of the theme!
So, I have played all of the Exit games and this one is very similar. I have also played the "jigsaw puzzle" version of Escape Room: The Scientist. Both jigsaw games have great puzzles, but this Exit version is far superior in terms of challenge and creative use of the jigsaw puzzle itself in solving puzzles. In this game the jigsaw is not just a gimmick - in other words, it isn't just a substitute for what could have been a piece of paper... you actually USE the jigsaw in a variety of unique and interesting ways. It was creative, fun, and yes, the puzzles are pretty challenging. I play these by myself and this one took me every bit of 2 hours.

Don't start too late
The game is fun and interesting.. I do recomend playing it a bit early in the night/evening because your braincells might become a bit slow later in the night.

Creative, but difficult to understand
The game has such wonderful puzzles/riddles and they're all very interesting, but sometimes trying to understand what you're supposed to be doing isn't easy to figure out. One of the puzzles has you color on top of the puzzle, but just asking for it to be lined up properly is vague, I thought it just needed to be right side up. I feel like they could've maybe added the corner colored in on the puzzle the same way the map is or something to correlate it back to the puzzle. It's great quality though, all of the puzzle pieces fit nicely togetherI do wish it was replayable so that multiple groups could play the same game, but it does crazy things with the elements and that's worth it

Great mechanics, one of the better EXIT games
Challenging, but not as hard as other EXIT games, and much more intuitive/natural. The riddles are well crafted, and it's much easier to tell which puzzle you should be focusing on rather than spending forever trying to work on a puzzle that you don't have all the materials for yet. Lots of very fun, unique mechanics that I haven't seen in other EXIT games. Highly recommended.

All in All Not Totally Unhappy But... It's Hard
We enjoy the EXIT games, so I thought I'd give the jigsaw versions a try. I love jigsaws and escape challenges, so I'm personally hooked, but I liked the Sacred Temple more than this one.THE GOOD: My partner is not a fan jigsaws- so its nice I could play alone. I'm slow at figuring out the riddles. (I have my doubts about people who claim they solve these things in an hour or two.) I broke this up into one puzzle a day and got a lot of enjoyment out of it over several days. I like having the assembly process to break up the mental challenges. The artwork is really good and quality of the puzzle cuts is high. You can keep the puzzles just as... puzzles. I disagree that these are "one and done" disposable. This version can definitely be re-gifted if you make a zerox or two and take care with the clues. If I stuck this in a closet a few years, I'd definitely forget the solutions. My purchase did NOT have the German typos some people complained about.I demoted stars on a couple issues. Several of the riddles are ridiculously hard. I don't actually mind too much, but some of the answers involved way more lateral thinking and multi-level steps than I was was able to divine on my own. I had to use a lot of clues and at least one "solution" was a stretch and took me a while to understand even with their own description. Perhaps a partner with different logic would have helped? The editing wasn't the best. I sometimes couldn't figure out the next lock without glancing at the color-coded solution page to know where to proceed. The last card is a throw-away. With so much imagery they easily could have just added a bonus riddle that maybe had clues from all 4 images? This isn't a good introduction to this company. It's probably best to have done a few of the card-game versions first so you understand the deal. I'd be hesitant to do a jigsaw EXIT with more than two people because of the extra assembly step. The images are glossy and very dark, making them hard to view without correct lighting (and sometimes a magnifying glass).Looking forward to new ones in the future. ;)

Don’t waste your time
We wanted to like this, because we like the other puzzles in the series that we’ve done, but it was so hard that we stopped having fun. So many of the clues for the locks didn’t make sense or the clue would open a lock that was nowhere near the clue so you didn’t know which one to open. There simply was no logic. The last puzzle was way too simple considering the other puzzles, and basically rendered one other entire puzzle moot. That’s right, we were able to complete the puzzle without solving one of the clues. We’ve loved the other puzzles in this series so not sure what happened with this one. Guess you can’t win them all!

Super fun
Be ready that it takes longer than classic exit game, since you have 4 Puzzles as well. At first i saw there is no wheel, just some books and was a bit consired, but still it works very smooth and as expected for an exit game. Good luck if you try them 😁

I like new improvements
When I first saw Exit doing jigsaw puzzles, I’m reminded right away of Ravensburger brand of jigsaw puzzles with escape room within. But hey, this actually works out differently. Yeah, not like escape rooms shine more with jigsaw puzzles but this new idea gives more variety to the riddle mechanics and I’m happy the creators are constantly exploring different ways to add sparkles to an already established line of games.

Excellent addition to the Exit Games range
As soon as we saw that Exit had launched a new style of escape-room type game we had to try it. We've played all of their existing range up to the most recent release, and while we've enjoyed all of them the chance to try something where the gameplay is a little different was very welcome. Those familiar with standard Exit Games will find some things familiar here (the code disc) but other things in 'The Deserted Lighthouse' are very different (no cards, no book). All rooms are played out via 4 jigsaws, which you complete one by one as the game progresses. As you complete puzzles and solve clues you'll receive further documents to help you on your way, either providing new puzzles or evidence, or directing you to start a new jigsaw. We really enjoyed this game. It took us a little while to get going at first, but once you get into the game the experience is very similar to the previous games but with added fun. We picked the harder of the two games on the market but we should have tried the easier one first, as we did need a few hints, but we'll go back and play that one soon.I particularly liked that several of the puzzles rely on/use the jigsaws themselves as part of the solution, it's not just that you complete them and look at the picture every time. Once you get your head around that it helps going forward to complete the further puzzles. The games are a bit longer than previous games due to the jigsaw aspect, we completed the game in around 2 hours. I'm sure others could do it quicker. I'd recommend doing some of the smaller games first if you're a beginner to get used to the process.

Super disappointing!
We have done ALL the EXIT games so far and enjoyed them - the easy and the hard ones. This new version, with jigsaw puzzles, intrigued us. We saw the difficulty level and thought: this will be challenging and fun. We were wrong! The handbook is poorly written. No where does it tell you to keep the jigsaw puzzles together. If you have ever done an EXIT game you know you don’t need the clues you’ve already used - so once we put together one jigsaw puzzle and solved the “puzzle” we took the jigsaw apart and started the next one. BIG MISTAKE and I wished they would have told us.The jigsaw puzzles are way, way, way to dark. There are clues on them you literally can’t see - numbers, letters, picturesThere are “puzzles” (two of them) that are so convoluted they are impossible to solve. I would challenge anyone if they told me they didn’t need hints to help them. We don’t mind hard puzzles but not impossible ones. (What the heck was up with making the paper boat??)Finally, there was a huge error in one of the puzzles which led to much disappointment as even when we read how to solve it it still didn’t make sense. This has to be the WORST EXIT game. I do NOT recommend it at all.
