Cute, vivid, feel-good book!
My son isn't even two years old yet, but he loves to read a variety of books. He loves this book because it talks about mommies (and he loves the Daddy Book for the same reason), and it is a fun read with cute illustrations! The cover is representative of what the inside has to offer. It's simple, yes, but that's the beauty of it. No matter who your mommy is, she loves you and likes to hang out with you. Please ignore the negative reviews concerning stereotypes. This is a very fair book with accurate descriptions about the different kinds of "mommies." "Some mommies drive minivans, some mommies drive motorcycles. Some mommies fly kites, some mommies fly airplanes." There is nothing wrong with pointing out the differences. They exist, and none is better than another. It's neither politically correct or incorrect--it just IS. The people who have a problem with this book for the "types of mommies portrayed" have their own problems to sort through, in my opinion. This is life. The true purpose of this book is to let your child know that no matter what kind of mommy he has, he's loved.I also highly recommend the Daddy Book and the I Love You book by Todd Parr.

This series is ALWAYS great!
We love this series. The graphics are appealing, the quality of the production is excellent, and the "important messages" are well-written. We've bought several, and we intend to buy more for our grand daughter. Very positive and reinforcing! Though she's only a year old, this book (and others from the series) will be read to (and with!) her for years. I suspect that within the next year, she'll be reading them to everyone around her (from memory, of course), as all children tend to do.

My kids think this is a must
All three of my children loved this book from ages 2-6. They like the different kind of moms, and they eventually like being able to read a book themselves. Would buy again for young children and early readers.

My 2 year old is OBSESSED with Todd Parr's books. We currently own every single children's book he has written and have already pre-ordered the next.

I Love Todd Parr!
If you're looking for fun children's books that are progressive, creative, and that send positive messages, these are the books to buy! As the sole parent of a six-month-old, I have been looking for books on alternative families that I will be able to read my son when he begins to discern our family from other (two parent) families. I came across Parr's "The Mommy Book" and "The Family Book," which include a diverse array of both traditional and non-traditional families. I also purchased "It's Okay to Be Different" and "The Feelings Book," which provide simple yet fantastic ideas for conversations around healthy expressions of behavior and identity. I'm now a dedicated Todd Parr fan (you should "like" him on Facebook, if you're a user, to keep abreast of his activities and updates. He resides in the Bay Area and occasionally holds readings out there).

LOVE Todd Parr
I've been giving Todd Parr's books as gift for over 10 years now and am finally so happy to share them with my own little girl. The colorful pictures, the simple and funny text and the sensitivity to all of the differences we have in our lives are just a few of the reasons I love his books. My friends have been telling me for years that their children love the books we gave them, and now I can say the same is true for my own as well. You will want his entire collection after reading just one!!!

Colorful and cute with great message
My daughter LOVES this book. She's 19 months and she goes for it every time at bed. She says "yum" when some moms make pizza and "up" when mommies dress up.I love the end- all mommies want you to be who your are.I love saying this to my daughter and I hope all parents can truly with all their hearts say this to their children!
