Q: Can this be used to bleach douglas fir? if so, does it bleach out the red/pink too?

I used this on my Doug Fir floors after sanding them down. If you like the look of raw doug fir, this will help you keep that look even with the top coat sealer. Sealers really change the look of raw wood. I opted to go with an acrylic top coat used General Finishes high performance top coat in Clear Matte. The Woca wood lye in white kept the look of raw wood with a beautiful soft finish with 3coats of sealer. As others have said, TEST It FIRST. I had to re-sand my test area 3x before I got it right.

Q: Hello, I have a veneer ash countertop that is way too yellow. Can I use this product to reduce yellow?

I put this on my maple floors and it turned them light purple/pink. It might counter act the yellow but the pink is just as bad!

Q: Can this product be applied on the bare freshly sanded red oak floor to brighten and whiten red floor undertones?

Yes! to calm down more of the red or pink showing through in the floor use would lye first. WOCA has this product also.

Q: Can you use a polyurethane top coat? (Or must you use a hard oil finish?)

I don't see why not. If what your looking for is lighter color you need to wash the floor with their cleaner to remove the tannins ( it works) after the lye. You will need to sand with the buffer pads to smooth the floor before any top coat. Hopes this helps!
