Is this kite winder easy to use? We just occasionally fly a kite for fun and need an easy way to wind it in.

It's super easy to use. I am 5-3" 115 lbs and have zero problem using this. Just bought it a few weeks ago. soooooo much easier than the hoop style. The lock works great too when you'd don't want your kite to go any Higher

I will use primarily at the beach. Specs say ball bearings are sealed but one user says they are not? Also, is the swivel clip stainless steel?

Bearings are not sealed. I've disassembled reel and cleaned bearings a couple times. Assembled, you can see the bearings between the stationary (yellow) and rotating (blue) parts. You can even see them in the pictures with this ad. That means dust and dirt can get inside, but more to the point the race was filthy with manufacturing detritus when it arrived, so being able to open and clean inside is a big plus. Swivel clip is definitely stainless steel, and substantial. (In fact, it's a bit of a problem because I switch kites frequently and this clip is so strong I can barely manage opening and closing it barehanded. I can't manage it wearing gloves.)

What is the max length this kite reel can hold for Dacron 120lb braided line?

Good question! The length loaded has been chosen intelligently. Much more could be wound on before spilling over the sides, but the closer one approaches that limit the more taut the line must be to keep from escaping and tangling. Unless you're always working under ideal conditions, I'd stick with what they've specified.

do these berrings rust if they get wet?

They are not sealed or stainless steel bearings. So I'm sure if they get wet from rain or seawater, if flying at the beach. Then yes, like anything if not taken care of properly, they will rust. I have not had any problems with the three different reels I bought and posted my reviews about. Take care of your things and they'll give you years of enjoyment!
