Dallas Mfg Co Canoe / Kayak Cover, 13 Foot

I bought this cover for my 13 foot Hobie Kayak so that I could keep it on a rack outside and it wouldn't be subjected to the intense heat/rays of the sun. Upon receiving the cover, I was impressed with the cover, the stitching and overall make of the product. I put my Kayak in it and had a little trouble getting the end in becuase the ends of the cover are cut differently than a kayak or a canoe...which surprised me a bit...so it fits very snuggly, and I'm concerened that the zipper and/or material might tear at some point. I also sprayed the cover with a waterproofing spray/sealant to keep out water. Later, after opening the cover to get the kayak out next time, I was covered with a bunch of water that came gushing out after I opened it. No big deal, I guess...I just don't want the cover to mold over time...my only concern about that. Besides the two "dislikes" (snug fit and water retention) I am pretty happy with the cover. Great product, great price and it came in record time.

I have 2 -12' kayaks. I had purchased a cover from another supplier sometime back that was a little heavier than this one. It was very water tight. This one is a lot lighter gauge material in comparison. There is water infiltration into this cover, but it doe zip securely to keep out unwanted guests. I am sure it offers some level of UV protection as well. I am going to use a silicone repellent that may assist with the water that makes it into the cover. It did come with a tote to store the cover when the kayak is in use that was nice. Overall happy. One note, this cover was about 15 to 20 dollars less than the heavier cover that I referred too. Taking that into account this cover is about what one should expect at this price point.

quality is very good. very easy to slide my 12 foot kayak into, however i have to store the kayak outdoors on a rack. weather is not the only concern...so is security. using a cable lock, i would ideally like to pass the lock through a scupper hole. this cannot be accomplished and still be able to zip the cover closed. If the zipper either 1) was a double zipper that closed or opened from either end, or 2) zipped in the opposite direction, (away from the end of the cover), I would be able to pass the lock through a scupper hole and out of the cover right at the very last part of the closure. as it is now I can only pass the lock through the carrying handle attached to the nose of the kayak, which is not nearly as secure.

I received my Kayak cover today. I ordered a 13 foot cover for my Pungo 120. I was a little concerned because some reviews said the covers were tight and the Pungo is a little wider than most Kayaks. It looks well made with strong material. It is actually a little big for my kayak, but that's better than small. The instructions say to make sure water does not puddle on it, because that can created leaks. The only way for me to do that is to store the kayak upside down. So that's what I'll do and see how it goes.

I'm using this cover for my 12.5' kayak. It seems to be holding up well so far. My only issue is that I need to secure / lock the kayak and there's no way to do it with the cover completely closed. This is not a problem with the cover, just something that should be consider by buyers storing their equipment in a non-secure location. I will be buying another one and would recommend this product.

Purchased this cover for my 12' kayak and had plenty of room left over, which is a good thing so it's not a tight fit that requires a fight to get into the cover. I store my outside kayak outside so this was ideal for me to keep critters out. As far as water resistance I can't speak to that yet, haven't had much rain since first storing.

I have 2 kayaks, both are a little over 10' each. I was actually able to fit both of them in this cover. I can't attest to the protection factor and longevity of the product, but so far I'm pleased.

Length is good, but there is a lot of excess material around the circumference of the boat (a kayak). It is not waterproof, so the extra material collects a lot of water when it rains. Time will only tell how it will protect from sun. Gave it three stars only because I couldn't find anything better on the market. The boat manufactures should create custom covers for their individual boat designs.
