U.S. Toy Pirate Captain Cardboard Party Hats Costume (1 Dozen), Black (USTH31)

For my kid's pirate-themed birthday party, these cardboard party hats were just the ticket. The classic shape with the skull-and-crossbones design totally nailed the pirate look. All in all, these pirate hats were a total hit and totally worth the cost.

These are made with genuine paper and the colors make it seem that you are a true pirate. These were used for TLAP (Talk Like a Pirate Day) and they were a hit...well with me anyway. They fit on your head and they stay there for the most part. Inversion not recommended but then a baseball cap wouldn't stay on normally in that way either I guess. It was a true dozen so no free 13th one for those bakers out there. I give it five stars as there were a dozen, they were paper (pretty decent thick stock), it had pirate stuff on them and they were hats. Well, that is five stars!

Ordered these for my sons 3yr b-day party, they were a great addition to the party! All the kids loved being a pirate for the day! If you get them for smaller children, they are a little big so I took double sided tape and just put a piece on the inside of the hat and it fit perfect! Couldn't even tell :) They lasted the whole party.

I ordered these pirate hats as favors/ party hats for my son's 5th birthday party. I thought they were very cute upon receiving them, but felt like they were made of pretty flimsy, thin cardboard. Having read other reviews and seeing that they were made too large for little kids' heads, I stapled them smaller before the party. This worked well for the little kids. If I needed them to fit a bigger head, I just removed the staple. The kids looked really cute in them and liked wearing them. During the party, a little rain sprinkled some of the kids while they were outside, and the hats started falling apart. As long as they didn't get wet at all, they held up ok. Although if the kids take them on and off a lot, they can rip them. That happened for us too. I didn't intend for the hats to last much beyond the day of the party so I wasn't disappointed. I just wanted cute pictures of the kids and that's what I got.

Took my family and grandchildren on a pirate themed afternoon cruise. These were very colorful, fit everyone great, and held up wonderfully. They fit the adults and the kids - even one over my 13 month old grandaughters little sunhat. So cute! The product matched the picture. Bonus - they are open at the top and very lightweight - so they were not hot to wear at all even in the sun.

For the price of these hats, they actually were a lot higher quality than I thought they would be. I purchased these along with some plastic tiaras for my daughters princess and pirate themed birthday party. I was sure that the tiaras were going to end up holding up a lot better than the pirate hats. Surprisingly it actually ended up being the opposite. The tiaras all started breaking during the party and the cardboard pirate hats were the ones that help up. My daughters friend Scott loved his so much that he is still using his eight months later! My daughters ended up going through their in a week or two since they like to wrestle...all the time. That fared a lot better than the tiaras did. My girls tiaras had broken within 5-10 minutes of the party starting. These are by no means durable high quality hats you should wear with a rain storm while trick or treating on Halloween, but for a children's party these are a very reliable option.

I have to laugh at a lot of the negative reviews...it's a cardboard hat, what did you expect? The paper is like a gloss card stock and yes, they're big enough for an adult, but for the toddlers I just put a piece of scotch tape on each side to narrow the opening and boom, kiddie size! They were a big hit with grownups and kids!

This one was a miss and not a hit. We ordered 2 packages of these Captain Pirate Party Hats for my daughter's Jake and The Neverland Pirates themed Birthday Party. They come flat packed are made of printed cardboard and pop up so no assembly required. They come 12 in a package for around $5. They are bright and nicely printed with a different design on each side. I thought the kids were going to love these. We had two different parties (kids ages 2-13, but mostly 4 and 5 yr. olds), I noticed that none of the kids were wearing them. Finally one little pirate asked me to help them adjust their hat and it was way too big for them! These fit the adults but not the kids so the kids were just not interested in wearing them. It might have helped if I had stapled the sides together to make them smaller. I should've not wasted my money on these and just have bought Pirate bandannas for a little more instead.
