This study book helped me prepare for and pass my music content praxis! A lot of the questions were similar to the ones on the actual test.

This is a great study guide for the test. It gives you a snapshot of what the test is. Although, I recommend to also look other sources to study quizlet.

This book summed up most of the key information on the test, and helped me to recall what I studied in college. It helped me pass the first time, I highly recommend it. However, as others have said: This will NOT help if you do not already have at least some knowledge of music history, pedagogy, knowledge of instruments, primary sources, notes from classes, etc.

This book is great for reviewing. Really. Read through it and study it for a bit. The test at the back made everything way more stressful than it should have been. Take the practice test from the praxis site (yes, pay the extra $20. I promise it is way better than the test in this book). But the study guides on the praxis website do NOTHING to help, and this book actually does.***If you never paid attention in your classes, do not expect this book to teach you anything. This book helps you review what you already know. If something in the book is confusing/unfamiliar, you will want to look it up in a resource dedicated to the topic.

I originally purchased a number of books to study for the Praxis II in music, this book being one of them. It was several months before I opened the book to study it (had other exams to get through first), and ended up purchasing the product again by mistake! The company was prompt and courteous in refunding me. The book itself, I have found extremely helpful and informative. There is a tremendous amount of information in it, so read each answer carefully. The only thing this source is missing, is the listening component: There is no CD compiled of music that may be found on the Praxis II test, or suggestions of sources where that could be found. So I have been trying to fill in that gap. The MENC website is also a wealth of information, and well worth joining (whether you are a music teacher or not). You can get practical and timely advice on everything concerning music education, so it's worth having access to for your Praxis exam as well. I have not purchased the flashcards that are available. Although I have not taken the exam yet, it has helped!

This is a great book to help study for your liscense. The drawback is there is nothing to help with the listening portion which you will encounter.

I wish got this earlier. I have to take the Praxis a third time.

This seems to be a pretty good product, lots of helpful information. I had purchased another previously, and it was not as good as this one
