Inspirational thoughts for daily living.
This is a great little book of daily devotional thoughts, and has lots of inspirational thoughts for those in personal recovery. Short verses, a few sentences or a paragraph or two to consider for daily living. Our Native American Recovery group would read out of it once a week before we proceeded to the sharing part of the meeting. There are also interesting notes about This Day in History for many of the Daily Readings.

Outstanding book of daily reflections
After a one week visit to Cherokee NC, I have been using this book daily as a morning reflection. I find it both inspiring and informative about native American culture and spirituality, so often ignored or belittled by many Americans. The only lack in the book, in my opinion, is brief accounts of violence among the Native Americans, both before being "discovered" by the European colonists and in contact with them. The majority of the fine book seems to protray our native American brothers and sisters as 'noble savages, pure, untainted and peace loving. I find little mention of inter-tribal hostility.

My Third Copy
I bought this book when it first came out. I have carried it everywhere with me and it is really beaten up but like the energizer bunny....it keeps on keeping on. I carry it around in my purse or backpack, depending on where I am headed. I have never gotten tired of reading this book. There is so much shared knowledge within this little book's pages....that every re-read...I always find something new. These last two copies, I bought for my two dearest friends....they had seen my copy and were really interested in having one. So....I bought them each one, because I know, like me, they will love it. And, there really aren't enough words to be able to say everything about the "365 Days of Walking the RED ROAD" But, the thing that I realized most about the book was, anyone reading it....would find something they enjoyed reading about. I wish it was available for my Kindle.....what a concept!

We are NOT 'wannabe redneck whites'!
First of all, I must take offense to "A.Dick.Weed"'s comments...I am so angered at his words...I think his name and location says it all! Where is his proof that the author is a "redneck white" or that those reading this book are "only other whites, and wanna-be Indians"? Just because a person has a "redneck" or "white" name does not mean that person is not Native American! I guess A. Dick Weed considers himself an authority on Native American names and thinks that all Native Americans MUST have names like Sitting Bull or Geronimo to truly be Native American. What about Chief Dan George - do you see ANYTHING Native American about his name? No, only his title of Chief, but here is a TRUE Native American! Enough about being angry with A. Dick Weed...it is not only a waste of my energy, it brings down my spirit and saddens our Creator. I purchased this book for my husband, who although does NOT have a Native American sounding name, IS Native American of Cherokee descent. He absolutely loves this book and reads it almost daily. He has also shared many of the daily 'walks' with our Native American 'brothers and sisters' - many of whom don't all have Native American sounding names. This book is terrific, so if you are looking at it, please look at the other ratings and ignore Mr. A. Dick Weed's comments. Wado...may our Creator watch over and bless every one.
