Q: is that a teflon finish? i was trying to avoid the chemicals.

These come in both Teflon finish and stainless steel. I have Model number 220-05P and it does NOT have a Teflon finish. It's stainless steel. I don't like the Teflon ones either and they are totally unnecessary anyway because the pizzelles have so much butter/margarine that they don't stick to the stainless steel. Model 220-05NS DOES have a Teflon finish and you can tell which is which by the model number. The model numbers of the ones that are Teflon have the letters NS after the number.

Q: Someone wrote this is stainless steel, but the description says aluminum. Does anyone know what the box says?

The description says --- Make delicious pizzelles in minutes with this polished stainless steel interior. This says STAINLESS STEEL INTERIOR and to me that means the plates are just that Stainless Steel. Why would they say Stainless Steel if they were Aluminum ? Also with all the warnings about Aluminum, and with all that is said about Aluminum like the chance of Alzheimer's, everyone stays clear of Aluminum, Waffle Makers to Deodorants ??? So I know several have said Aluminum on the reviews, but I don't think so. The only way to really know would contact the manufacturer and it was said they don't respond. If you do so on Amazon though then they will because they log messages like that for their buyers from their sellers. Located in Accounts under messages.

Q: Proposition 65 warning in description - what is toxic in this product? Is it the nonstick plates? Is the silver stainless steel or aluminum?

The packaging has no warning or description of materials used. It doesn't look like aluminum. It is shiny like stainless steel but to be honest I don't know what it is. You might contact the company on their web site www.cucinapro.com or e-mail them at customerservice@cucinapro.com and ask them directly.

Q: Are the Pizzelles real thin?

No. Rather on the thicker side. I returned it. My old one from CHEFS CHOICE. # 834 made the thinnest, crispiest pizzels. Trying to find one like my old one. Very difficult!!! The best pizzels are thin, crispy, dry. Not so much with this machine. And only half the cookie baked!!!!
