Puzzle Box 3D Wooden Puzzle Model Kits for Adults

Some pieces of a puzzle I couldn’t extract without damage, instructions are omg they need to do a YouTube tutorial extra, so just wasted money as I couldn’t fix this box

I don't build models, so this was the first thing I picked. The first glance at the instructions was a little overwhelming, and the provided link to "assembly video" didn't really work. But if you search for the product code, you will find people who have recorded themselves making it, and watching one of those for me was pretty helpful. Once I got past the initial "oh my god, these instructions" panic, and went through them a little more methodically, they proved to be very well-designed and easy to follow. I'd recommend leaving all the pieces in their sheets so that it's easy to find them when called on. You will have to do a lot of waxing of tiny gears and pushing of tiny, tiny wooden dowels into very tight holes. My fingers got super sore. But! In the end, I have a pretty nifty little box that has so many interesting little decorative bits. I screwed up the combination at first and that caused me to learn how the mechanism works and sort out my mistakes. This was a lot of fun, and every new little mechanism that I built was like a fun "a-ha!" moment. As a grown adult with a lot of time on my hands and no kids to harass me, this took about 4-5 hours. It shipped fast and the price was pretty decent. I would definitely recommend!

The gift is great for teens liking to use their hands and mind. Great gifts for fine motor skills. And it isn’t a gift associated with mobile devices.

I never write product reviews, but this one earned it. This was a gift to me. I was a bit skeptical about it working like it is advertised because of how many moving parts are involved. I was very impressed with how well the parts fit together and with how intricate they all are. It was very fun putting it together, and the final product is a very cool desk ornament. Definitely worth the money. Great care should be taken in assembling it as many of the parts are very fragile. One thing to mention, there is a list of number combinations that are "unconfigurable passwords." I selected one that was not on that list and found that my password would still not work. After spending quite a bit of time checking and rechecking what I was doing, I realized that my combination just won't work. I changed one of the numbers and it all worked perfectly. Just be aware of that if you get into that situation. All in all, I think this is an excellent product.

I was blown away by the precision laser cuts on this kit. The multiple gears and fittings are engineered to fit really close tolerances. It took me 6 hours to complete and I enjoyed every minute of it. Take your time, delicately sand off any tiny irregularities, and use the hard wax as lubricant. You will have a bunch of wax "shavings" when you try to apply it to the contact points of the gears, let those shavings fall on the instruction paper. Then lay the gears flat on the paper and buff the shavings onto the flat sides of the gears. Coax the pieces together, don't get impatient and try to mash them or you will own splintered toothpicks. I'm looking for the next step up in these kits.
