Patience Required
Looking at the material cost, this unit should be much less expensive. That aside, I have a Remington cabinet humidor which has separate refrigeration and heating systems to control temperature. I've disliked the original open air water bath (even with beads) humidifier for some time. It recently failed and I decided to make the leap. Items to note:1. When they say put the vents to the back, they mean it. The more unrestricted air flow the better so you don't get rebound (frequent on/off cycling). Since my humidor has a ledge in back for the refrigeration system, I put it on the first shelf with the sensor above the top shelf.2. Use the beads. Open water is a source for molding. Also, it also can cause rebounding due to the higher rate of moisture being put into the cabinet. Gradual addition of moisture is a good thing.3. The major patience part involves three things going on: heating, cooling, humidifying. You don't want these functions chasing each other around. Humidification causes cooling due to evaporation. So the heater comes on. Heating causes the humidity to go down. So the humidifier goes on. This will happen for the first couple days while your cabinet stabilizes. As I had to relocate drawers and install the system, the drawers will dry out, hence will reabsorb moisture fairly quickly. A new cabinet humidor can take a week, less with drawer wiping.4. Use a calibrated digital hygrometer to get a true read of humidity. Calibrate using the salt method and you're good to go. My unit read 3-4% high. It's easy to adjust. Make sure you put the hygrometer near the remote head as stagnant air in the cabinet will have humidity variation top/bottom and side/side. When done, put the hygrometer in a different location and don't fret about the small difference. It's fine.5. No sense buying a small packet of replacement beads every year. A large packet for $14 will last 15 years.6. The power supply wall wart goes to a Micro USB tip. It requires a 1/2 inch hole to pass through. Squirting some expansion foam in the hole or using duct tape to seal works fine.7. Additional fans are not needed for my cabinet but may be worth it for the large stuff. Just remember you actually need some unrestricted space to mount them. The also only run when the unit is running. If you want general circulation all the time, I'd recommend either 12 or 120 volt quiet muffin fans.8. WiFi is poorly implemented. CA uses an App that must be run on a separate server. That's just plain old school. They decided it costs $1.50/month/user to host on a server. When the WiFi feature was incorporated, some memory could have been added for 13 cents. Then the App could easily work direct to the humidor and not require an intermediate server. Probably the only real benefit is "low water" notification. Other than that, if you're going to be gone a few weeks, refill the water and you don't have to worry. The "history" feature just really tells you whether or not you have a problem. There isn't an Echo Skill for this. Another way you could ditch the separate server.

After Sales Service Non Existent
I had issues with my unit and had a lot of difficulties getting in touch with the company. This caused a great deal of frustration, but when it was discovered they were not receiving my emails, and we moved to me calling them direct we were able to get the issues resolved. One of their staff gave me their personal number, with me being in Australia and her in New York State it made contacting each other difficult, hence getting her personal number so I could call outside of business hours. In the end, there was a faulty controller which was replaced, and the unit has been working exceptionally for the last 6 months.I do feel there should be better instructions online, and I think the guys who have done their website need to be replaced, and they need better programming of their units and easy-to-find information and troubleshooting. I expected that the market-leading product would come with an extensive manual, great troubleshooting options, and 2nd to none after-sales support. So this was my initial experience:The unit worked like a dream for 3 weeks, then humidity dropped. My humidor had $10,000 worth of cigars in it, and luckily I was checking it daily.I went to the manual, which couldn't be simpler, with little to no information on problem fixes. I dialed the humidor up to 80% humidity to see if that would allow it to keep humidity levels higher - it didn't. I looked online for more information, more developed manuals didn't exist, no videos to show me how to troubleshoot, and no response from Cigar Oasis even though I emailed them both direct and filled out the form through their 'Contact Us Support Page'.Aside from this, I have not been able to link to my iPhone, and the instructions are just not developed enough to help. I even had "CAL" flash up on the screen on the remote, which isn't mentioned at all in the instruction manual or online. In the end with direct help from Michelle in their office, they sent me a new controller. It was just a difficult situation exasperated by COVID and delays in shipping and hard to get hold of spare parts.

Exceptional humidification system
Let me be clear: the 5 star rating for this review relates specifically to the Cigar Oasis Magna 2.0 product. This is important because I gave only one star to Humidor Station as the seller. If I could have given them zero I would; I received by far the worst customer experience I have ever had on Amazon UK, and very close to the worst I've ever experienced full stop.To be helpful to other potential buyers, if you do order the Cigar Oasis Magna 2.0 from Humidor Station make sure they send you a picture of the exact product they will ship you (and make sure this is the 2.0 version). Despite sending several communications pre-order about this issue (Humidor Station insisted they will ship me, as advertised, the 2.0 version) - the first item I received was the original Magna, which is now two versions old (and nowhere near the performance of the 2.0). I had to prove this was the older version with written communication from Cigar Oasis themselves, and even then Humidor Station decided that they could not guarantee the replacement I would get would be the 2.0 (despite the fact they advertise it as such). Then they would not dispatch the correct 2.0 version until I posted the wrong item back.....cigars do not have an unlimited ability to live without correct humidity. Eventually, after some debate, they did send the new version sooner.....which is just as well because I was left to negotiate with DHL using Humidor Station's account number and waybill on how to ship and when, arrange insurance, etc, wasting even more of my time.On to the product and there is not much which needs to be said about the Cigar Oasis Magna 2.0 other than it is a truly excellent humidification system. The fans in the 2.0 version are significantly, and I do mean significantly, more powerful than the original model. I have a very large cabinet (restored commercial scale humidor) and once up and running it took only 4 hours to get to exactly 70% across all six shelving compartments and it is remarkably stable. Don't be surprised when the wired red hygrometer is -7% out on initial set up though, a friend also has one of these and same there also.I tested the Wifi adapter a friend has over several days now - I gave it back. It's a nice innovation and idea but in a practical sense, not worth the additional cost in my opinion. No hesitation in recommending the product, I will update with 6+ month review but very happy so far.

My $200 Magna 3.0 Is Loud And Weak -- Returned
I am not impressed with the build quality of the water box and especially the fans of the Cigar Oasis Magna 3.0 humidifier!I spent over $1,200.00 building my 30sq/ft industrial humidor and while that may not seem like much for a humidor of this size, this humidor is for bulk storage, not public display, so it is not pretty. But the one thing I tried above all to build was a super insulated and nearly silent humidor. My humidor has six internal fans. Three circulate the internal air. Two fans bring filtered fresh air in and one fan exhausts air if the humidity or temperature gets too high. And yet with all six of these fans running they are one third the noise level of this brand new Cigar Oasis Magna 3.0. I can hear this humidifier outside my humidor which has 1.5" of rigid foam insulation and 3/4" thick plywood. The two tiny Qualtek FAD1-06025BBHW12-A fans used in the Magna 3.0 move just 23.4 cfm of air each.As for the water box itself, there is nothing sophisticated about it. The upper section is very flimsy (flexible) and the plastic grate keeps falling off. The grate does not clip into place. And the rest of the unit is just a plastic box with two tiny fans that blow air inside and over gel beads that swell with distilled water. The beads were impressive as a tiny bag of them filled the water compartment. The humidity sensor is where all the on/off magic happens and it is quite sensitive in two ways.During testing I found that the slightest press of the buttons made adjustments. And if you press longer than a millisecond or so the unit makes significantly more adjustment than you meant to make. So instead of pressing the buttons, you quickly tap them to make minor adjustments. The humidity sensor is impressively sensitive. A slightly moistened paper towel placed within a few inches of the sensor is enough for the sensor to register a humidity change. However, while you can set the desired humidity, let say 80%, you cannot set the humidity range, let say +-2% (78%-82%), because when the unit turns on and off is factory set and is not specified in the user manual. I would prefer to be able to not only set the median humidity, but also the on and off humidity range. The unit does not turn on, (as indicated in the user manual), "As soon as" the humidity drops below the set humidity. There is a lag, and this on-off lag is what I would like to set. With all this said I returned this humidifier and designed and built my own.

Most impressive customer service
I purchased this humidifier 3 years ago and it has worked faithfully since I installed in my 3000 cigar humidor. A few weeks ago I had an issue with the unit communicating with the app. (unit was still working fine) I contacted customer service and after them helping me run some diagnostics they determined there was a problem with unit. Instead of them claiming the unit was over 3 years old and way out of warranty they exchanged my unit for a new one. I am blown away by the handling and had to write a review for anyone considering purchasing a new humidifier.
