Premium Value Slimline Bible Large Print NLT, Cross (LeatherLike, Sienna)

I was having a problem reading the Bible in the king James version. This NLT Bible makes sense to me. The size is perfect. Love the feel of it. It is beautiful! This was a gift to me for Christmas. I really can't find the words to describe how much I LOVE this Bible.

I took a risk when ordering this Bible because thorough reviews were few, but I really like this Bible. I was worried about the large print (I don’t need it, but this Bible was beautiful) because I like to take a lot of notes, but the spacing between the lines is big enough to where, if you write small enough, you have a lot of room to take notes. The Bible itself is larger than I expected—it’s not huge or cumbersome or heavy, but while it is skinny, it is wide. Its width is about 5/6 a piece of paper maybe, to give a sort of reference. Would fit in a medium-sized purse, and would definitely fit in a backpack. It’s also very reddish-brown, unlike in the picture, but I think it makes it more beautiful. It has a Life Applications Topical Index in the front—so if you were struggling with trials, you can easily look up scripture. New books of the Bible don’t start on separate pages—Numbers flows right into Deuteronomy, etc. This is a very beautiful and lightweight Bible. Also, the print is not *big*. I certainly will never need a magnifying glass to read it. In other words, I can bring it to college Bible study and not feel like a grandma. I reccommend!

I really only read the KJV Bible, but I do love comparing verses in different translations. I probably have about a dozen different Bible translations sitting on my desk. I bought this one about a month before the pandemic hit, and I didn’t really get a chance to look through it before we closed the office and began working from home — with my Bibles still back at the office. We recently returned to work, but I still hadn’t found an excuse to crack this one open — though I did think it was really pretty with a nice cover, beautiful cross design, and gilt edged pages. Then a couple of weeks ago, someone in my family ended up in the hospital. He asked for a Bible, and someone finally dug up an old Gideons Bible for him to read through while he was there. I told him I had a ton of Bibles sitting right next to me, and I’d be happy to send him one. I offered him my personal favorite, a lovely, gilt-edged, thumb-indexed, red line KJV, or this one, as these two were my nicest Bibles, and both were in large print. He chose this NLT Bible, and I overnighted it to him. Now he’s comfortably recovering at home with this beautiful book. He and his wife both say it’s just a gorgeous Bible, and the large print is easy on the eyes. Plus, the translation is easy to understand. I didn’t know when I bought this one a year and a half ago that someone so close to me would need it, but I’m so glad I had it handy. Looking back at how little it cost, and then seeing how nice it is, I can honestly say this one is a lovely bargain!

For the price that I paid this is an excellent buy. Yes , the pages are thin, but I put a piece of black paper behind the page I'm reading and it's not noticeable. Also the print is a bit on the small side, but you can't expect more from a handy size Bible. This is my first NLT, and I'm very pleased with it. The cover and binding are also very good for this price range. I recommend it!

UPDATED REVIEW: I found out that the NLT actually has some verses that interpret other interpretations as in the case of James 4:5. Like in some NLT readings it allows the reader to know that and some do not. Overall, this bible is wonderful and Find the NLT better than the NIV in order translation and choice of words for clearer understanding.I am therefore changing it from one star to 5 as I absolutely love the larger print in this bible and reading of the NLT version PREVIOUS review weeks before: This book has a scripture that did not make sense to me and I decided to look at it from other bibles and discovered that not only is it inconsistent with what other bibles read but also inconsistent with the NLT version itself. In James 4:5 the book reads: "What do you think the Scriptures mean when say that the spirit of God has placed within us is filled with envy?" I thought this made no sense, so I went to see other bible verses and even another NLT version and it reads: "Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him." I checked online versions and saw that this purchased NLT bible is not consistent with the verse above. Why is James 4:5 different in this bible different from the other NLT James 4:5 and how many more verses are wrongly printed? WHY IS JAMES 4:5 NLT IN THIS BIBLE NOT READING THE SAME AS OTHER JAMES NLT 4:5? HOW MANY MORE INCIONSISTENCIES CAN THERE BE?

This Bible has a nice cover and is light-weight and compact. I guess that there is a trade-off in order to have it be "slim-line"--I did not consider it to be "large print" and the pages are so thin that they are slightly transparent. It just depends on what your priorities are in ordering this Bible.

I was blown away by this little bible a bought as a gift for someone and ended up getting another for myself! At such a great price, it is a very handsome bible, very lightweight, yet quite readable with my reading glasses on. It's lightweight and comfort to hold is it's main feature, that make you just WANT to keep reading it. My only criticism is the lack of a red letter version, but for the price it's the most beautiful and comfortable bible I have.

I was totally surprised when this package arrived I wasn't expecting such a nice bible for such a low cost. The beautiful cross on the cover and it's not real leather but still for the money it's a wonderful buy. Don’t expect the print to be giant size print, actually it’s really not that large to me but I can still read without my readers, just a little harder. People are complaining about pages bleeding through...I have so many other bibles printed by others and they all do the same? The paper is thin people, the only bible I know that would not bleed is a paperback. These bibles have such delicate and thin paper, it makes them very special. This even has the gold trim on the edges, I was so delighted to see. This would make a great gift but I'm keeping this one.
