CHH Dragon Chess Set

Was nervous about this purchase. It turned out to be better than I had expected. The dragons are a nice silver color and bronze/gold color with good detail. The bottoms are felt so they slide nicely and do not scratch the playing surface. These are nice heavy pieces. The stand that they set on is pretty nice. It would be super nice if it were actually more of a stone rather than resin. However, there is a lot of detail in it and it really is a fun piece. It definitely adds to the dragon theme of the chess set. The dragon chess pieces are also extremely detailed with a good bit of heft. As a new and old player (new to the game with failing older eyes) the pieces are fun but my inexperience with the pieces makes them a bit difficult to determine which piece is which. Regular chess set pieces are extremely clear in their differences. Apparently all dragons look the same to me, lol. A better player would not have this issue though. This would not stop me from purchasing this item again as a gift. It is a beautiful set. I am uploading a close up of the pieces that I snagged from online so that you can see what I am referring to. The playing surface is glass. Smooth on one side and the squares etched on the other. It is about 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick. It is sturdy but the pieces are rather heavy and might crack it if they get tipped over. I would say to be sure this is setting on a stable table. The entire things is quite heavy as well. It is a good quality chess set and for chess players looking for a fantasy board, it is a good gift quality set. This is displayed on a pub table which is also part of an anniversary gift for my husband. See my reviews if you want to know which pub table I got for this. It looks very, very nice. I am confident that he will like this even more than I do. As an aside, my two sons are also anxious to play with this set after their dad gets it. I am told by all of the males in the household that "dragons are always more fun! DUH!!" Update: after husband received the gift He loves it. The kids love it. It is going to become the centerpiece in our man cave/home pub area. It was fun to see him receive this and I would not hesitate to recommend it as a gift for others.

I echo all the other 5 star reviews. Beautiful piece. Too nice to play with. Using it as a center piece on my kitchen table (I'm a bachelor so I never eat there) haha pieces are heavy and the detail is fantastic. Well worth the price!

Me gusto y a la persona a la que se lo regale también, se ve de buen material, las piezas tienen un peso adecuado, lo único es que cuesta un poco fijar las gomas del tablero de crital a la base pero una vez fijado tiene buen soporte. Ademas llego antes de tiempo.

This is an absolutely beautiful chess board. The base is phenomenal. It bends slightly if put on an uneven surface so as to make sure that the glass remains stable and flat against the base posts. In other words, the posts will rise or lower a little so you always have an even stable board to play on. Then there are the pieces. These are incredible. The level of detail is fantastic. my kids and I can stare at them all day. The weight of each piece is great. Love the pieces. My only concern is the painted glass board. It seems that over time, the white squares may get scratched. With 3 little ones learning to play, this is a good possibility for me but that's my issue not yours. I do wish the felt on the bottom of the pieces was a little bit bigger in circumference to reduce the metal on glass issues. I highly recommended the Dragon Chess Set. It is awesome.
