Komelon 4912IM The Professional 12-Foot Inch/Metric Scale Power Tape, Yellow

I've used many a tape measure in my time. Learning to appreciate the smaller ones like this 12-foot specimen. Does 90% of what I need and it's light as a feather. The coating on the metal tape makes for smooth action and the case is nicely put together. It has a good quality feel. I bought one for the office and then bought another for home once I found out how nice it was. A bargain.

We need a solid, yet small, tape measure for our media office, and the Komelon 16' is perfect. We didn't want a heavy, bulky tape a contractor might need, but we did need quality. The Komelon is a great weight and incredibly handy with both standard and metric measurements. It's worked well for every use we've had, from measuring elements of prints to measuring/hanging large wall pieces. The soft matte finish on the tape is a nice touch as it prevents reflection from our big, overhead fluorescent lights. When we need to focus on a small portion of the tape, we can always see it clearly. The Komelon is such a good product, at such a good price, that I bought one to keep on my desk at home. Highly recommend!

This came from amazon.com and it was shipped to the UK and therefore I thought I thought it was American made. I clearly didn't look closely enough because if I'd known it was made in China then I never would have bought it!

I'm a retired general contractor. I did construction for more than 40 years. Everything from building factories and houses, to kitchen and bathroom remodels. I know the value of good tools, and one of the most important tools in anyone's tool belt is a quality tape measure. Without it you can't make accurate measurements, and if you can't measure accurately the quality of your work goes right down the drain. This is a quality tape measure. Durable, easy to read, accurate, and it will last you a very long time. Sure, you can buy a "contractor's tape" at the bargain store for a lot less, and feel like you're saving money... until you drop it off a scaffold and it breaks in a million pieces. This one isn't going to break from a little abuse, and this one will still be retracting perfectly, long after the spring in the cheap ones breaks. You'll also still be able to read this one long after the paint and markings have worn off that cheap one. Quality tools are a must if you want to to quality work. Buy this, you won't regret it.
