Quality transistor
They was good quality and worked good

Good quality
I've almost used all of these, great quality J-fets.

Good quality J310 JFETS
I will use these JFETs to provide bias current for block detection on my model trains and so need the ability to control the current. I tested a number of parts at random and the zero-bias drain current (Idss) was in specification for this device, but as expected, Idss varies quite a bit. Using a 37 ohm source resistor to develop a negative gate bias, and 6.5V drain voltage, multiple parts pulled out of my collection of 30 parts were 20 +/- 2 mA, so these parts test very good.

BEWARE - TEST THEM BEFORE YOU USE THEM
So it's been almost a year since I bought these 2N5457 transistors and I'm finally getting around to building a circuit with them. After fighting with the circuit and wondering why it didn't work, I pulled one transistor out of the circuit and dropped it into my tester. It reports as a BJT, NPN with an hfe of 30k. I removed the other 2 transistors from the circuit and measured them as well, one being from this bag and the other was the last of what I bought from Jameco some 20 years ago. One of these 2 tested as a BJT, similar to the above. The last of my Jameco stock tested as the FET that it is supposed to be, with the specs that I expected. I then tested the remainder of this bag and they're all the same... NPN BJT with an hfe that is what you may expect to see from a darlington.

Works as expected. Threshold voltage average is -3.67 V with std dev of .083 V
FYI the only J310 datasheets I found only doesn't list a typical threshold voltage, but I measured to be -3.67 V with a std dev of .083 V, with a range from -3.55 V to -3.84 V. That is a much narrower range than what the datasheet says of -2.0 V to -6.0 V.

worked as expected
Used several jfets right away. Tested 5 of the 10 I purchased and all 5 were very close - I picked the two most similar and the project functioned as expected.

They appear to work.
They appear to all function with a simple current test. I'll soon fire 2 up in a mic pre ckt and see for sure.

Good parts!
Not much to say, they worked as needed, thank you...

バラツキが気になりました。Idssで0.11~2.0mAと結構なバラツキです。ただ2ペア作れたので目的は達成しました。残りはジャンク箱へ〜笑

It is to be used as driver for load (relay, led, etc.) at the output of SR Flip flop formed by NAND gates of 4011 IC.
