VornadoSilver Swan Vintage Oscillating Fan, Brushed Nickel

Compared to the Rowenta 2660 5 speed desk fan, this fan is heavier, slightly more powerful, less tilting and oscillating range, nosier, and more expensive. I happen to like noisy oscillating fans, but to tell you the truth the Rowenta provides more for the price, it is quieter and has a remote. I may do a comparison video ad a have both. If you like the retro look the Vornado is a good choice.

I love this fan — beautiful Mid-Century Modern design, and super sturdy.It's a real powerhouse, so the lowest setting is still quite strong, and the volume is kind of loud.. That said, the more that I use it, the more it seem to be settling in, and the whoosh is now a little softer. It's also a very even sound, not rattling/clicking has some have mentioned. I'm happy with it.

I ordered the fan and when it arrived I was impressed by its solid construction and heavy weight. All metal with only the switch being plastic. Then I turned it on! On all three speeds it sounded like a farm tractor without a muffler. Very disappointed. I immediately requested a replacement for it and when it came, the only speed where there is not mechanical noise is high. Medium speed is not quite as loud as the first one and low speed is pretty loud but not as bad as the first one. We decided to keep it and assumed this is the best that they can do. Too bad as other than the noise, it's a great fan.

I saw this listed on one of The Wirecutter reviews for fans. What a sleek and gorgeous design. It’s powerful, quiet, and easy to clean. I’m thinking of buying another one.

This fan would be perfect if only it had a remote control. It is very powerful and sleek. Not too noisy. Fully assembled. A bit expensive.
