It looks like it works, and I am pleasantly surprised since I am not a person who really believe in herb supplements if talking about the somehow serious condition, but I think it actually helps me. I have been trying a lot of different remedies for my "3 am insomnia", and gave this thing the last chance before considering my physician's "real sleeping pills." Took it for a month, and now re-order a new bottle of 60 capsules (one month supply), may subscribe despite the fact that SleepThru is a little bit pricey. Definitely, will consider other Gaia products if will need something "natural" and gentle. Before ordering take into account my the following comments: - this is not a 100% guarantee sleeping pills that will knock you out no matter what. In my case for example, instead of 4-5 sleepless nights per week, I have around 1-2. Which is a huge improvement for me; I would prefer it this way rather than taking serious medicine. - these 1-2 "still sleepless" nights usually come from a nervous day, an important event on the next day, new place, etc. in other cases I might wake up at night, but fall asleep more easily without wondering around for hours. - I do other stuff to improve my sleep: warm milk, exercising etc. - it gives my very vivid dreams, they are good and interesting in my case :) however, I do not know how they gonna be in your case.

I am using a combination of three Gaia formulas so I will put this review on all three. I am a chronic insomniac. Mind constantly a-whirl. This has been since I was a kid. "Not sleeping," quite frankly, stinks. I wanted to try something supposedly, "non-addictive" for the purposes of sleep and perhaps soothe my anxious, hypnogogic thoughts. I did a lot of research. Most of the "medications" out there for this purpose are Benzodiazepines (Klonopin, Xanax, etc) or, at the very least bind to the GABA receptors (Ambien, Lunesta etc.) All of those have a very high potential for addiction, both physiological and psychological, as well as abuse. Benzos, as most people know, are not only highly addictive, but are one of two substances, once addicted, can cause death simply through withdrawal (Benzodiazepines and alcohol can do this). So, not wanting that, I kept looking. I wanted something gentle. I didn't want to just pass out either. Enter Gaia: Sleep and Relax, Sound Sleep, and Sleep Thru. All of these recommend taking 1-3 capsules (three being the true recommendation). I take one of each and no more. Sleep and Relax is a freeze dried supplement that has a heavy scent of lavender. Passion Flower, Valerian, California Poppy, Skullcap, and other grace this mix. It is to be taken two hours prior to sleep. It is very gentle and promotes a "calm." It does not "knock you out." It does tip the scales towards sleep. Sound Sleep is a heavier mix that is a Liquid Phyto-Capsule. This is to be taken one-hour prior to sleep. It has a similar mix to "Sleep and Relax," but adds Kava and some other proprietary blends. The action of the liquid phyto-capsule is much faster and more potent. This definitely makes me feel sleepy. I will also note that it does so within 30 minutes of taking it so judge the time you take it for yourself. Lastly, there is Sleep Thru. This is also a Liquid Phyto-capsule and is billed as an herbal mix that will help you sleep "through" the night. It is to be taken 30-minutes before sleep. This mix blends Magnolia & Ashwagandha extracts as well as Jujube. So...how do they work? Awesome. Does it knock me on my butt and make me sleep like Ambien? Nope, but that is not what I wanted. The mixture of the three (and they are not contraindicated) are very complimentary and I find that not only do I get a more restful sleep, not only do I go to sleep more quickly, but I wake up with more energy. I also feel more "balanced." So much so that I have recently ordered a passion flower formula to take during the day at times for stress (have not tried this yet). There is a calm. I am a pretty hyper guy, lots of energy, lots of exercise, lots of productivity (and I read a lot of books late into the night). I work full-time. Married-two kids. Life is never "dull." This is not a "sedative." I do not feel groggy during the day or like my creativity, energy, etc have been stolen from me. This combination of herbs has brought me an immense amount of relief as it pertains to my sleep AND I will cite the added benefits of calmer affect, less frequent wakings, and morning energy that lasts through the day as well as, what I feel are some physiological benefits (gastro and other) Note: Kava had some tests done on it many years ago that requires a "liver" warning. They were deemed to be "unfounded," but the warning is still there as an FDA requirement. Kava itself is used primarily for anxiety and promote a general sense of "peace." It is also used in many rituals (google it) Of note, I stated earlier that Benzos bind to the GABA receptors. Well, so do many of the herbs in these mixtures. This lends itself to the potential for abuse. Here is the difference. Benzos bind very "strongly" to the GABA receptors. They linger there and, depending on the half-life and the dosage/potency, they may have a negative impact on memory, sensorium, etc. The herbal blends "weakly" bind" to the GABA receptors. They have a similar impact as they work via a similar mechanism, but far less abuse potential and far less chance of physiological addiction. I cannot speak to the psychological addiction though as I have now been taking the herbs several months and I plan on using them as long as I feel I need them to sleep which, given my long-standing insmonia, may be in perpetuity. I'm fine with that. Namaste~

Dear Insomniacs, Been using CBD tabs for a decade as I navigate Menopausal Insomnia. Gaia is a brand I trust. Worth the price cause CBD is more expensive. I still awake with nightsweating. With SleepThru most nights I'm able to return to a slumber no matter how many times I awake . 15 minutes prior to bed, I take a Melatonin spray which helps to fall asleep quickly. Magnesium also a plus.
