Does it work ok if the ice cream is soft?

It is very good either with firm or soft ice cream. Can also be used for scoops of potato. turnip etc.

What are the dimensions? The picture shows the scoop head slightly wider than the handle and states that the scoop is 4.2 inches wide!

I was worried buying this as it was quite expensive but don’t worry it is a VERY nice scoop. Normal dimensions and certainly not 4.2 inches wide.

Can someone please measure the diameter of the scoop only in cm?

This is not the scoop I have. Mine has no mechanism, but is very strong and oval shaped. For what it is worth, the dimensions are 4.5cm across by 5.6cm long and does a great job.

Can you use this scoop for cupcakes

Sorry I did not buy this one and the one I bought I only use for ice cream
