affordable, easy to apply and great at covering gray hair with a natural, rich color that minimizes red tones.

I've been using Colorsilk for over 20 years now and it still works better AND looks better than any of the more expensive brands out there. It always gives me a multi-dimensional color - lots of highlights and lowlights. I always use the touch-up method and it never comes out too harsh (or over colors the ends). I've used various shades over the years (even mixing them) and they've all given me the same great coloring. The coverage is great. I've tried the foams and mousse and cremes of all the major brands and have always been disappointed in comparison to this inexpensive haircolor. It's very easy to use. One tip: rather than rinsing in the sink, rinse in the shower - it makes it a very simple clean up. I've dropped the solution on the sink, in the tub, on the shower curtain and walls with no staining. Simply wipe it off with a damp paper towel and it's gone. It will stain clothes. There isn't a strong odor to the solution - no ammonia. I do love the rinse. It used to be sold separately as Revlon "Milk" conditioner. I always use the full package which seems like too much but it really works. After rinsing out the solution, my curly hair is very rough, tangled and generally "icky" feeling. After the conditioner, my hair is in better shape than before I colored. Even when I wasn't coloring regularly, I often colored when my hair seemed droopy or dry just for the conditioning. Another tip: If you find that one shade comes out too dark and the next shade lower is too light, you can mix them together to get the perfect shade (you can also tone down the reds by mixing a golden brown with an ash brown). When you mix, pour 1/2 of each color bottle into one solution bottle and put the 1/2 filled color bottles and the unused second solution bottle away for the next coloring - costs exactly the same per coloring.

The stores in my area don't carry this shade of hair color. Glad to be able to find it on Amazon. Good price for 3-box set, cheaper than retail.
