Lovely journal .. very rustic pages

This is everything I have looked for in a blank book but never could find. The paper is thick. My fountain pen doesn’t bleed. I love being able to write like it’s a giant reporter pad with no binding on the sides. I can hold my pen in the book itself, and there’s plenty of room to tuck in other pages. My only complaint is I wish it had more pages. I have had mine now for 16 days and I am a 10th of the way through it. I’m already prepared to buy another one over the summer. Hopefully they make one just like this but with twice the number of sheets.

The company tried to make it right, which speaks volumes. At first I received the journal in unacceptable condition. In turn, MBExports contacted me to offer to resolve the situation. What I received was in MUCH better condition. These are very nice, rustic, well-constructed books. I like the REAL leather cover and lace binding and page grouping. My only concern is how the pages are held inside the binding. These are not rugged as hoped for and should be handled with care. I hope they take my suggestion and use round hole punches rather than a slit. As it is now, the slits can turn into tears. As it is, the back page has torn.The Good: The paper is of good quality stock. Good quality leather cover and wrap-around. Smells like quality leather and is a pleasure to write in.The Not-So-Good (But not necessarily bad): Cuts for the lace binding may tear with use.I would recommend these journals for writers who like rustic leather, writing on quality paper, and the feel of history. Handle with care though, this is not something to be tossed around. In and out of a backpack/knapsack (for taking to work, school, or travel) for writing on-the-go should be fine so long as one is not terribly rough with it.Hopefully, the manufacturer can take my suggestion and make this a bit more rugged and sturdy.I give this a 4.25-Star rating. 5 if I was not concerned about the method of preparing the paper for binding. However, I would LOVE to give a 5-Star rating.*This is my honest, unbiased review.

0nly 100 pages, they count both sides in the description. Still a great sketchbook. The leather doesn't seem treated and scuffs really easily, but unless you're a severe OCD, it won't be an issue.Paper is really porous and accepts pencil like nobody's business. Haven't used ink in it yet. Looking forward to airbrushing in it.

I Love this journal. I can't wait to use it. Definitely will be buying more. It is worth the money. You will not be disappointed.

The blue leather was just the right color. Sometimes you just can’t tell how the color will really look from pictures. The paper is just right for many different drawing mediums. I’ll only be using pencil and pens but I know the paper can handle more. My only criticism is that the closing strap design for this sketch pad might be a little tight which is good for keeping it closed but can take a little longer closing it if you are in an unexpected rush. But that is about it for any flaws I can see. Overall I love it and is exactly what I was looking for.
