Very pure zinc. I use for zinc plating small parts in a home made setup.

Instead of as anode I use this zinc to make my own silver solder for emergencies or to solder copper instead of using the phosphorous solder that can break if hammered -mix zinc with silver and copper and have silver solder; one can find cool tutorial videos about this- and it works good. I wanted good quality solder so opted for this pure zinc sheets.

When cleaning the cooler this year, I found significant mineral deposits AND algae. I am trying these zinc strips (grounded) to try to reduce both problems. So far, the strips are showing significant corrosion and I will see if the effect of the zinc on the algae growth makes a difference when I pull the media to clean. Hope to report on this experiment in Fall/2024.

It didn't appear or feel like the pure zinc metal i used to see my uncle buy years ago for his boat so I assumed it was just a zinc composite but it coated my project well and everything turned out fine. Going to buy more soon before a price increase ..... maybe. LOL

I wanted to try electroplating and I tested it on a rusty spring I found in my shed. That's zinc!
