Excellent and enlightening read. Tends to move from topic to topic seemingly randomly, which can make it difficult to follow at times, and seems to go off on tangents, but still very informative.

I got this one after the Selfish Gene, as the author himself said that the Extended Phenotype was his proudest accomplishment. It is pretty good, but has some problems: - a large part of it is dedicated to dealing with criticism and misunderstanding of Selfish Gene. It's interesting to read, but probably only relevant to people in the field / active in such discussion - it's more technical and a bit of a slog for an outsider. - the interesting new bits only come in the last couple of chapters. Would still recommend this to people who loved the Selfish Gene or are already interested in the subject, but not to anyone else.

Whenever I buy a book online, my only worry is the paper quality. There are so many bad products out there but this book is excellent ... and the paper quality is also very good.
