It does say in the product description from the manufacturer that this item is made of 100% "Washed" cotton. So, I'm sure they used some kind of chemical to treat the cotton fabric. Thank You

We returned it because it was too large for anyone here to wear. Therefore, I can't measure it, but I can tell you it was definitely "generous".

It is not stored. It hangs over the neck all the time.

I've never washed it. It fit my head perfectly the first time.
