Emotional Intelligence: Key Readings on the Mayer and Salovey Model

The book seemed to me to be excellent The persons that we devote to facilitate to others, we should read It. This book gives a deep base to understand the elements to bearing in mind for the development of the emotional intelligence

I often recommend this book to anyone writing their dissertation on the subject of emotional intelligence. Page 88 has an excellent comparison of the three main models.

Excellent resource

Good overview of the model, key papers are included here; although, I could have just downloaded them from the internet individually, which makes me feel a little stupid for buying this. That's really the only reason I'm giving it 4 in stead of 5 stars.

Brilliant.

This is a defense and explanation of the authors' development of the concepts, and especially the related testing. Not much on the substance of the EI concept. This is not a popular work and will not do much to teach the lay reader about the topic. Good for the reader who wants to get at the roots. The authors are often credited as the founders, or among the founders, or at any rate with opening the topic to scholarly and popular interest.
