this is a solid tool. well made, well packaged. delivered on time. i guess i'm old fashioned but this is a tool. i had no issues with the switch. in fact it is positioned properly to do the work. it's a tool and tools must be used properly. don't stick your finger on the blade. same as you would not do with any cutting or sawing tool. no more dangerous than a jig saw or circular saw. by the way, it works exactly as described. cuts inch thin carpet with jute backing easily. 10 - 50 times faster than any knife or hand blade no matter how sharp. no snags, no runs just easy cutting. just like the video. it is made in china but it is a solid tool and seems built to last. it's a fair price for a tool that saves so much time and effort.

This one goes right through rugs fast.im never ever using the battery one i have ever again. This is my favorite rug cutting tool if i could i would rate it a 20 star 🌟

I was trying to find a real carpet cutter, but all the ones I found when I read on it said they cut cardboard paper and some other crap but not carpet. I didn’t think I could ever find one, but I kept looking and found this miracle. We are cutting up carpet and not very old mobile home plus the phone underlayment. This thing cuts through like butter. I cannot believe how great it works some of the other ones were the same price or more that wouldn’t cut carpet. This is worth every penny and probably more. I highly recommend this if you’re going to cut a goodly amount of carpet. We cut it into 4 foot sections and rolled it making it easy to handle.

I bought this item 2 years ago. I have used it numerous times to break down all the rugs I pulled out of a new home I purchased. Everything comes already assembled and was ready to use. It’s make speedy and comfortable work of breaking down 5 rooms of carpet. I have not yet had to sharpen or replace the blade since purchase. It does get a little backed up at the base of the blade when used for continuous non-stop rug cutting which I would expect from the kind of tool and the condition of the rugs I’ve cut up. Cleaning it out is a breeze with easy to remove screws and knobs. I have arthritis and was initially using industrial rug scissors, which worked great but killed my hands after just a few minutes and decided to find something less painful. I’m glad I found this hand tool. It’s definitely durable, makes tough work far more enjoyable and can be used for easy rug cutting as well as accurate and comfortable trimming of other thicker materials. I plan to continue to keep this tool handy for an upcoming DIY reupholstery project I’m looking forward to.

This is a well-built heavy unit. It has its own built-in cutter wheel sharpener, oiler, and height adjuster. I gave it 4 stars because the on/off switch is awkward to use and needs to be redesigned. It is a trigger switch that is very difficult to control and can be accidentally triggered. It would have been better built with a toggle switch at the top of handle. Otherwise, a very god investment, and it will cut carpet like a hot knife through butter.

After searching for some time and despite the negative reviews I decided that this was still my best bet for the purpose I had intended. When the product arrived I was initially disappointed, as some other reviewers had mentioned it appeared to have been used and re-packaged. There were fibers on the blade and the cord had been re-twist tied (the twist tie was also damaged) badly (obviously not the original cord winding). I decided before complaining or writing a negative review I would give it a go (considering it didn't appear to be damaged in any way). Prior to plugging it in I looked over the included sellers instructions and safety notices. Despite the obvious minor translation issues I found the manufacturers instructions to be simple and clear. It would have been nice if they had included blade and worm gear lubricant but it is all good. Blade lube they recommend just motor oil (like for your car) on this. The grease for the worm gear isn't listed in the manual but appears to be run of the mill clear synthetic grease. Most people buying this are probably using it for sewing and you could probably use sewing machine oil and grease for this cutter. I am not using it for sewing and will likely use worm gear grease and engine oil. Many people had mentioned the trigger being both inconvenient and dangerous, sometimes even starting on it's own. The first thing I noticed before plugging it in was that the trigger actually fit very well in my hand and I didn't have to put my hand into any awkward position to activate it. After plugging it in I didn't find the trigger to be overly sensitive, it never started when I didn't intend to start it, and I didn't have any issues with the cutter starting by itself after being placed down while pugged in. I assume people are setting cutter down on the trigger? I don't know that is the best guess I have. The cutter itself is surprisingly quiet, much quieter than I had expected as videos made it sound much louder than it actually is. I was able to cut while on the phone with someone and they didn't notice. I was very happy with the performance of the device, the moment I started cutting any reservations I may have had about the item being used vanished. This thing is cool, you want to cut things up just to cut them. It cuts very fast and clean. I did have problems keeping the line straight but I was also not on a table. Overall completely delighted with my purchase. This thing is honestly way cooler than I thought it would be. Was it previously opened? Perhaps, but I don't actually think so. My guess is they do a quick QC run prior to packaging and that whomever did the QC simply didn't pack it as nice as it could be or clean it as nice as it could have been cleaned. As to customer support I have not contacted them (no need to). Given their service e-mail is @hotmail I wouldn't have too high of hopes with that, but the product does have me pleasantly surprised as it is so I could be wrong there.

I love it!!! I struggled with a box cutter when I first began to remove my carpet. I found this electric cutter on amazon yesterday and first used it today and was so impressed with how easy it was to cut the carpet! My carpet was expensive and thick 20 years ago and it cut like I was cutting thru butter. I would recommend this to anyone needing to remove 1600 sq feet of carpet and pad. And I’m 76 years old😁

Once you tried it, especially for pattern cutting, you won't go back to scissors. Excellent curved cut control, fast cutting. You'll love it ! One thing though... Keep the electrical cord away ! This tool will cut its own cord as easily as it will cut fabric.

La usé para cortar fieltro acústico. Fueron alrededor de 600 cortes y sigue con un filo impresionante. Irónicamente tuve un accidente con la hoja al guardarla. Es muy filosa la hoja de corte. Sin duda muy buena.

Heavy duty and easily cuts through durable material. We need to cut up uniforms prior to disposal and this saves a lot of time and effort. Highly recommend.

Love it, it does get warm with use, contacted company was told this was normal. So with that being said I give it a break in between cuts. Makes cutting material a lot easier. Do recommend!!!
