Wow. This mailbox is SUPER STURDY. It's a hefty, strong box. It weighs about 50+ pounds. Sheesh. My husband installed it on a post we had already installed with cement at the base, in about 30 minutes. The magnets are super strong - I was worried about past boxes we've had with whimpy magnets and the wind... this door is gonna stay closed. Comes with 3 keys. This is great. We have someone pick up our mail when we are gone so she has one, I have one on my car key ring and one in the house. You can also register your key number in case you need to order/reorder more. We chose the granite gray box - it's slightly darker than I had expected, but black numbers worked well I think - see pic. The picture makes it look almost silver, just the angle - it's really a medium gray. The surface is completely smooth. I will say that we live on the ocean front in Oregon. I will update as we go along... we expect to have to replace it - just a matter of how many years. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful and I hope my review and pics are helpful to you.

Outstanding high security mailbox. Well designed and well built. You can’t break into it and you can’t smash it, except with a stick of dynamite.It was easy to install, but it’s heavy. Make sure your post is sufficiently sturdy.Mail Boss is a family run small business in Washington State, USA.The box comes with 3 laser cut keys-similar to a car key. Replacement keys cost $12, postage paid. This is NOT expensive for this type of key. Ask any locksmith, and consider how much it costs to replace a car key. The vast majority of locksmiths cannot open these locks. So, if you lose all 3 of your keys, you will have to pay extra for FedEx shipping.Highly recommended for anyone who has had mail stolen and/or a mailbox smashed by lowlife punks.

This is a very sturdy mailbox that will resist all but the most determined scumbag thieves. The design and construction are good and installation is easy and secure. Ideally, even though it's the largest they make, it would be 4" taller, like our old box, to accommodate larger packages. They could eliminate the out-going mail shelf and flag since that's just an invitation for theft and reduces the size of package that will fit. Doesn't include the lock cover so I had to order a generic one.For a wish list item, it would be nice to have a solar-powered LED light that turns on when the bottom door opens. Should be a simple, inexpensive accessory yet nobody makes one.

This is the best box ever. If you live in the country get this asap. I made a custom steel post full of concrete and a steel base. Placed this on top and now no one can steal the mail or wants to hit the box.

This mailbox is well built and is working fine. I believe all of the similar mailboxes of this size are constrained a bit for interior space because the mechanism takes up a good deal of the interior space. If you tend to get a lot of bulky mail, but want a box of this type, I'd be inclined to see if you can find one that is slightly larger. Otherwise, very happy with it.

I bought this after catching kids stealing my mail. I already had a post in the ground so all I needed to do was mount this to the post. I took a little extra time to reinforce it because my old mail box had been struck by vehicles 3 or 4 times. With the reinforcement, it still only took about 20 minutes to install. It's built like a tank so I think mail theft will be a thing of the past. Note: we've also been through driving rain, freezing rain, and most recently a driving blizzard. We had no problems accessing the mail and (a big plus) the mail stayed dry! I should have bought this years ago.

I bought the post and the Package Master in Gray. Heavy, great quality, strong. Digging the hole for the post was easy since I was replacing an old post. It was ready for the inaugural test today. Somehow We received five moderately size flexible packages the first day. I was laughing my head off as I took the mail and the packages out of the locked compartment. It held them all. I can just see the mailman stuffing and stuffing them into the hopper and being happy he did not have to walk up to the door with any of them. Very Happy customer. So glad I went with the largest size.
