Ben Gives Up His Dummy: The book that makes children want to move on from dummies!

Amazing
We read this book to our 2.5 year old daughter for a week, and then one night asked her if she was ready to give all of her binkies to the fairy. She put them all in a gift bag, we gave her a bath, and when she was done we gave her a present from “the fairy” as her reward. NO TEARS, SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT, never asked for her binkies again. This book was a huge win.

as a story it's very sweet and I still get asked to read it at ...
Does the job perfectly! This worked a treat on my youngest child. We read it a few times, then followed the story at home. It was a big relief because I thought nothing would work, without much drama and tears. But we had no tears at all. Also, as a story it's very sweet and I still get asked to read it at bedtime. Def recommend.

I was dubious, but this book works!
I bought this book for my dummy loving two and a half year old son; he adores his dummies and when I say he adores his dummies, I mean he ADORES his dummies!. After reading this book every day for two weeks, he made the decision to “send” his dummies to the Dummy Fairy. This has all happened with minimal grumbles, no tears and no prompting from me.Admittedly, some of the wording of the story, I didn’t really like, but I adapted it slightly during story time to what suits my son.Ultimately, this book worked for us in just over two two weeks, so I would recommend giving it a go.

It worked for our three year old to get rid of his dummies
This story was instrumental in getting our three year old to finally give up his dummy. After reading it for a week, it built up to the event and then overnight... No more dummies and he's never looked back.

Worked for us!
We bought this and just added to our sons book case. He took and interest in it when he was ready and we read it for about 3 nights in a row and he announced he was ready to get rid of his dummy for the “dummy fairy” and he did. He was 4 at the time and we thought at this age getting rid of the dummy would be very difficult but this worked for us.

Excellent book - worth the money
I was a bit sceptical about this book, but honestly after reading it every evening for about 3 weeks and changing the name Ben to my son’s name while reading he handed me his dummy and 4 nights on he has not asked for it. He will be 3 in November and he only used his dummy at night and naps but now we are dummy free. It took him a bit longer to fall asleep first night, next evening he didn’t asked for it and in the morning he was so made up when he got a big dinosaur toy to remind him that he gave away his dummy to dummy fairy. The best money I ever spent on book. No crying, no tantrums over the dummy. Very happy mummy and daddy. :)

Great story to encourage giving the dummy up
Read this book for a couple of days and on day 3 my 2 year old handed over the dummy and went to sleep without crying. 4 months on and no looking back! Great story to encourage giving the dummy up. Seems to have understood this more than the idea of Father Christmas!!
