I used it at first only rinsing it under water. It didn’t get wet enough. I found out you need to soak it in water for 5 minutes before using it. The stone grit has two sides a rough grit and a smoother grit along with a bevel on the side to help you hold your knife edge up against it. It works as you make circular patterns one way and then the other way. It is a nice sharpener and is easy to use. I like it has a case to keep it good condition. I would recommend this to keep your knives and wood chisels sharp!

Item isn't very large but fits in hand well for purpose to sharpen axe head. Leather case is quality and includes a belt loop. It is as picture shows remove bubble wrap and plastic before sharpening your axe head.

Good quality sharpening puck and leather pouch. Easy to sharpen axe with. Also very portable and fits nicely inside of backpack with Fiskars X7 axe.

I love this, works well, fits perfectly in my hand. I use it for machetes and am very pleased with it's sharpening ability.

Excellent value for the money. The stone (both sides) is durable and effective (critical qualities for any stone). Soak for a few minutes. I own about a dozen whetstones (conventional) so the puck was new to me, and I'm using it UNconventionally to scrape black algae off the bottom of my pool. The concrete is rough, and this puck is holding up very well, smoothing out the rougher spots with very little "mud" thrown off. The grit may be a little finer than stated, but stated grits vary quite a bit in whetstones, and finer is more expensive. Opinions vary a lot, too, but for mine, this puck is really an outstanding value, solid after multiple underwater excursions in chlorine. The smoother side is very nice, and I'll use it next time my ax gets dull.

I’ve spent too much money on sharpening devices that didn’t work, I tried this one and it worked!It was easy to use (I have hand tremors) and it sharpened the blade nice and even.
